List of Project Physical Therapy's Reviews
My experience at Project Physical Therapy was excellent from the word “go.” I’d been misdiagnosed by a doctor and sent to physical therapy that was understandably not helpful. I spotted an Instagram ad, and, since I was still in pain, made the call. Thanks to attentive listening and interactions, I was already on the road to recovery after just one visit. I then worked with Nick—each appointment is one-on-one the whole time—who guided me through and sent me exercises calibrated to where I was so recovery would be doable, not defeating. That insightful listening continued throughout my program, and I was left with lots of helpful videos of exercises I can continue to do on my own so that, should things flare up, I know how to take care of myself. The team here is kind, compassionate and knowledgeable—and effective. I couldn’t recommend them more!
Nick is the best! Having a frozen shoulder years ago I never regained full range of motion or was ever pain free afterwards until now. I went to an orthopedic surgeon, got shots, and even completed the prescribed PT at NYU with no significant results. After years of pain, radiating numbness and poor sleep I finally came here. After my first session with Nick, I slept for 8 hours straight on my "bad" shoulder. Not only was Nick kind and professional but he took the time to explain why we were doing certain exercises. At the other PT I was one patient in a room full of people and couldn't get the reassurance that I needed about certain movements. One on one with Nick help me understand what muscle I should be working instead of just blindly doing repetitive movements on a wall. I am pain and numbness free and back to doing some mean lat pull downs at the gym.
I came across Project Physical Therapy on Instagram and immediately I knew this is what I was looking for. I was in so much pain months after my meniscus tear surgery and my recovery at a typical physical therapy facility was not working at the pace I needed to get back to my active life. Upon arriving at the facility I was greeted by Lily and I was assigned to Dr. Nick who took great patience assuring me he was going to get my knee back to working order. After my first visit, I knew I made the right choice. My knee felt so much better I couldn’t wait to tell my wife and after five sessions my pain went from a 9 to 2. All I have to say is “ IT WORKS”. If you are having doubts about choosing Project Physical Therapy don’t worry you are in great hands. Thank you Dr. Nick for all your help. I truly appreciate what we’ve accomplished in such a short time.
I stumbled upon Danny on Instagram and after watching his news interview clip, I decided to make an appointment. While his regular Instagram content is helpful and fun, I could tell in his interview how truly passionate he is about helping people. After completing our initial consultation, that was even more evident to me. I came to Danny with bilateral knee pain, having already done 3 rounds of PRP injections in both knees and 3 months of physical therapy — still with the same symptoms I started with, if not worse. Danny seemed quite confident he could help me and even offered a money-back guarantee if his approach didn’t help. I completed a total of 11 sessions with Danny over the course of 6 weeks, and he took me from barely being able to bend my knees at all to sitting on my heels, climbing stairs (two at a time!), doing jump-squats, single-leg hops, and returning to my favorite recreational hobbies, which are Latin dance and Zumba. I’m so glad I came across him and wish I had found him sooner. Our sessions were virtual, by the way, but that didn’t take away at all from Danny’s attention to detail or my experience. Thank you for helping me get my life back, Danny! Forever grateful 🫶
Prior to coming to Project Physical Therapy (PPT), I tried getting treatment from another physical therapy office and I was disappointed with the lack of attention and guidance I was receiving. Because of this, I tried managing on my own and felt a little better but found myself regressing at times. I knew I needed to find a physical therapist I can work 1:1 with and I am so thankful I found PPT! As a dancer and someone with anxiety, my mind has thought that the discomfort/pain would never go away and I would not be able to move my hips the way I used to. But, after 4 sessions, Nick gave me the green light to go back to dance! And, today, I feel little to no symptoms in my hips and legs. Nick is one of the best honestly! His attention and guidance is everything & more! I truly appreciate his optimism as it helps me to be hopeful that things will get better and I truly think this is important for patients dealing with anxiety or stress that comes from experiencing physical pain or discomfort. Not only am I receiving undivided attention, I love that I get videos that teach me the exercises I need to work on weekly before my next session. Nick is also very responsive when I reach out to him via email with any concerns or questions I have. I highly recommend PPT! Thank you Nick & PPT!
Project Physical Therapy has been nothing short of an answered prayer! Prior to treatment I have had chronic pain for a couple of years that took me out of power lifting, hobbies I enjoy and day to day tasks. In my consultation with Danny, I was finally heard. I have seen so many doctors and different professionals trying to figure out my pain, but Danny truly listened to my concerns. His positivity and knowledge was so reassuring for me to believe I am not stuck in this pain at 26 years old with a whole life ahead of me. I am so thankful I didn’t give up and continued to persevere. I have been working with Nick the past couple of weeks over zoom and doing his recommended home exercises. Within one session I saw progress. I am in awe at what I have accomplished and what my body is able to do. Nick has been so supportive and really pushes me to my full potential! He knew my goals and how to get me there. Any time I have mentioned pain or discomfort he has been able to pin point and help me fix it. Nick is always responsive to any concerns I have out of sessions over email. Project physical therapy has given me my life back. Working out has always been my passion and to be back in the gym is such a blessing. This is hands down the best investment I have made and I would do it again. Thank you for making your patients feel like family!
I can’t say enough good things about Nick and the incredible care he has provided throughout my shoulder injury recovery. From day one, he has been extremely patient, knowledgeable, and supportive, always taking the time to explain each step of the process and making sure I feel comfortable. His dedication and expertise have played a huge role in my progress, and I truly appreciate how he tailors every session to my needs. Nick’s positive attitude and encouragement have made a challenging recovery so much easier. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled and compassionate professional!
Project Physical Therapy is one-of-a-kind! At the time I needed personal attention and one-on-one physical therapy advices for my ACL/knee injury, the team gave me effective exercises to do that were manageable and necessary at the moment. I was also reminded to be cautious about certain movements that I have not met milestones for. Dr. Danny and Dr. Uriah are sensible to my pain and challenges and they were able to explain the reasons by pointing out the parts that would soon heal or need more work. Dr. Danny also corrected my posture and my practices that was done insufficiently in the past to help improve my overall health for longevity. This completely exceeded my expectation! My surgeon and Orthopedic doctor are saying I am healing at a very good rate and encouraged me to continue with what I am doing. I feel very confident that the rehabilitation road I am on with PPT can help me to return to what I was before and can help me maintain overall muscular skeletal health in the long run. Thank you, Project Physical Therapy!
This is a very professional facility and the office, exercise area and treatment rooms are excellent. The staff are thorough and demanding as they should be if the treatment is to be effective. They are knowledgeable and attentive to patients' reactions but do the most to optimize the treatment. This is a serious treatment facility and not for those who want to 'go through the motions'. The lady at the front desk is very helpful and pleasant.
My experience at Project Physical Therapy with Dr. Shapiro has been nothing short of excellent. Danny is a person who listens, cares, and knows exactly how to motivate you and make you feel safe while still pushing you to limits you didn’t think you could reach again. Every session and day since I started therapy with him, only a short three months ago, has been gains and improvement on not only my physical health but my mental and emotional health as well. We tend to forget how much our bodies damage themselves when we’re living in physical pain everyday, add on top of that the emotional pain from not being able to feel healthy and strong. We then become numb or learn to “deal” with it and surrender to the idea that “oh well…I’ll just have to learn to live like this”. That is not freedom. At that point we have become prisoners of pain. I was one of those prisoners. I was resigned to the idea of living with pain for the rest of my life. Other doctors and Physical Therapy practices offered little and or temporary results; all it was making me was more helpless and depressed. Acute back pain episodes have plagued me for 7+ years; 4+ years of those have been chronic pain from lumbar stenosis, and an old patella fracture. It was hard to move, stand, sit for too long, stay active, play sports, enjoy laying on my bed, or even the floor, and not to mention work my physically demanding production job. Living in a constant 24/7 bracing-mode from shooting 9 to 10 out of 10 level pain in my spine with every sudden or hard movement was my “normal” day to day…Until I found Project Physical Therapy and made an appointment with Danny. After our first session I knew Dr. Shapiro was the right person for me. He listened to EVERYTHING I had to say, then he asked me pointed questions about everything I had said, and we proceeded to do the physical tests. After 3 or 4 excersices he knew exactly what my issues were and was excited to start treating me with a plan tailored just for my needs. He explained everything from the muscular to the neural roots of the problem and made sure I understood what my road to recovery would look like, all of this while re-assuring me there was a way out of pain and back to freedom. I understood and was ready to commit and push myself while putting my trust in Danny; someone who had won it after 5 mins of meeting him and experiencing his great energy. I purchased a package of 6 sessions and I can happily say that after my 5th session, only a short 3 weeks into therapy, my lumbar stenosis chronic pain of 4+ years was completely gone. It seemed impossible that in only three weeks, with only certain pin-pointed exercises in his practice and home routines he would provide me with, I could erase 4+years of pain that other doctors and PT places couldn’t help me with. I immediately purchased another package of 6 sessions to attack the rest of my issues from my old knee injury and I’m looking forward to a complete 100% recovery not far from now. All of this to say: Don’t let the chronic pain you are feeling now decide what the rest of your life will be like. I was a prisoner of pain, I was helpless and depressed, feeling like there was no way out. I am here to tell you there IS a way out, and Dr. Danny Shapiro and the incredible team at Project Physical Therapy (Shout out to Yuriah and Lily!) will be happy to help you. If you’re reading this I probably understand what you’re going through. Don’t hesitate to make an appointment now. You will forever be thankful and will want to share your experience at Project Physical Therapy with everyone who’s suffering from any kind of physical pain. Danny has become not only a doctor I can trust, but a friend I feel comfortable sharing my experiences openly with and has always made himself available for any questions or concerns about my recovery. That is the excellence Project Physical Therapy delivers and I’m excited you have found them as well. Thank you Dr. Danny Shapiro, Yuriah, and Lily.
