List of Raj Raval, Md's Reviews
Geat doctor! Dr. Raval has been very helpful in healing my lower back pain. The atmosphere at the clinic is always welcoming and relaxed. Dr. Raval is super friendly, and he brings a lot of positivity to each session, making PT an enjoyable experience. It’s clear he cares about his patients feeling supported and heard.
Great Doctor Dr. Raval's professionalism is matched only by his courtesy. I came to him with extremely debilitating lower back pain, and in the year since I've started seeing him my pain has become significantly more manageable and no longer negatively affects my quality of life. He is easy to work with and gives you the sense that he genuinely cares about his patient's well-being. I would recommend that anyone with lower back pain go see Dr. Raval, hopefully he can help you as much as he has helped me.
Amazing staff and doctors. Dr. Raj Raval made me feel so at ease with my surgery and answered all questions and concerns I had. Didn't sugar coat anything. Very dedicated and caring doctor.
Dr Raval is a great doctor and great guy. He Listens, Explains things well and actually cares. You’re in good hands with him and downtown physicians.
I've been seeing Dr. Raval for a few years after he correctly diagnosed my herniated discs, previously misdiagnosed as CRPS. He was the only one who listened to me and got it right. His office is easy to contact, and he has performed several injections and guided me through multiple surgeries, always helping me decide what's best. Dr. Raval is extremely professional and spends ample time with patients, making them feel comfortable, like talking to a really smart friend. I usually walk into his office in tears and leave with a laugh, hope, and a clear plan. It feels like someone is on your team while navigating complicated health issues and a complex healthcare system. His PA, Christian, is wonderful too.
PATRONIZING. WASTE OF TIME. DID ZERO to help me. I went in there to have a doctor review my back xrays for chronic back pain and to schedule follow up PT. The front desk people especially the assistant young man was very nice and helpful and I thought it was going to be a nice visit until the doctor came in. The whole 3 mins he sat there I could feel like I was wasting his time. He didn't explain the xrays he basically said 'so what do you want me to do' Let me tell you when you are in chronic back pain and need follow up care this is the last thing you want to hear. He is an ahole. I did not follow up with PT with his business I went somewhere else. I hope that his assistant moves on and has his own practice which will be very successful.
I left a positive review on Zoc Doc after my first visit and I regret it. I had three appointments with Raval. In the first, he seemed sensitive, attentive and essentially went with all of my suggestions for treatment without making any suggestions of his own. I thought that was fine, since he ordered a couple of MRIs, which should help diagnose the problem. The second appointment was held after the first MRI results were in. This time he was the opposite of the person I had met the first time. He mocked injured athletes who "cry in his office" because they're unable to carry on. When I asked him how to care for my spine for old age (I threw in a random number: "in 20 years time"); he said "in 20 years time, this will be the least of your problems." I was late for my third appointment because of a delay in the subway system. Here, Raval didn't even see me but sent me his junior assistant, who assured me that he'll come to see me. The purpose of the visit was to read the second MRI test. I was told that it came out negative and that was that. No attempt at figuring out why I'm suffering from my symptoms. And Raval never showed. I saw another doctor and found an alternative diagnosis that Raval could've considered had he done his job. I called his office yesterday to cancel the "follow up appointment" (follow up on what? You sent me on my way without explanations, and your doctor owes me a reading of my second MRI report!). The receptionist pushed back during the call: "what could he have done if the report came out negative?" I suggested the alternative diagnosis. There was no further pushback after that. In short, Raval hasn't fulfilled has responsiblities towards me as a patient. He was rude to me when I attempted to discuss self-care strategies while remaining active (in whatever form). And he exhibited his contempt for his serious cases. If you're an injured athlete, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.
Dr. Raj is very attentive, supportive and show genuine concerns for your health. When I had an insurance issue that would have prevented me from seeing a professional without a specific document, Dr. Raj went ahead and scheduled me for treatment, then sorted out the paperwork issue later. He truly values the well-being of his patients. The staff there are also very helpful and attentive. Treatments has helped me tremendously. Highly recommend this place!
Update - the doctors office called me to apologize and fix this mistake . It's nice to see them act swiftly act on to correct this. I will be seeing the doctor soon again.
If I could give Dr Raval 6 stars I would. He is not only excellent at what he does, he takes the time to understand your whole set of symptoms, your larger set of concerns / conditions and then explains your options and proceeds with great care. He has dealt with my urgent spine care on multiple occasions with concern and consideration. The people in his office are also kind, considerate and professional. He is not out to bill you unnecessarily and works with you to get better quickly. If only we had more doctors like him.
