Reshmitha Fallurin, Md's Online Review Report Card

I just want to preface by saying I’ve never been motivated to go online and write a review for any healthcare provider, doctor, hospital, etc. I have been trying to get a refill for my insulin prescription for almost a month and a half. I have: gone to the emergency room, been told I could get an emergency refill before my next visit, been denied that prescription because it didn’t have approval by the doctor, and spent hours on the phone with the pharmacy and the doctor’s office. When my televisit came, I told dr Fallurin about these frustrations, while also explicitly telling her that I respected her time and understood how much of a pain this system is (the reason I don’t get my britches in a knot and write a review on google every time insurance/the computer does something stupid) and she hung up on me, without refilling my prescription. Her office called me to set up a follow up visit, which I agreed to because she told me my lack of visits was why I wasn’t able to get my insulin before, and told them I needed my prescription refilled. Now, I guess I’m naive because I believed that would be enough and even waited a couple of days before contacting my pharmacy, as the emergency supply prescription was specifically enough for the time period between my last call to the office and the date of the appointment, and the prescription had still not been sent in. At time of writing, I don’t know when I’m going to get my insulin, will likely have to make several more calls, and potentially go back to the emergency room. I’m forgiving towards clerical errors and regular working people dealing with an evil and maniacal healthcare system, but I’ve never felt this disrespected by a doctor my whole life.

Dr. Fallurin has always made me feel heard, supported, and cared for. She takes the time to hear all of my concerns, go through medications, symptoms, and side effects. The office has always been professional, and even though sometimes there is a bit of a wait, I am always happy to wait because I know I am getting incredible care. Dr. Fallurin follows up, asks the right questions, knows the scope of her practice, but also makes the right referrals when she knows something in another area might be wrong. If you need an endocrinologist she is for you.

I find Dr. Fallurin to be very receptive to my issues. She is very encouraging about my progress and answers all messages promptly. I am not an easy patient. Dr. Fallurin worked diligently to help me with Medicare once I turned 65 and my insurance changed. That was a hassle and she persevered until all the problems got fixed. I am very glad she is my endo. I find she is eager to do the research about new technology, something my older endo did not do. She also has a sense of humor which is appreciated. I recommend her highly. She stays very involved with me and listens patiently to my considerable woes. She gets an A+ from me.

She's okay - she doesn't seem super competent in her field (she needed to think about how to explain a menstrual cycle) and canceled an appointment randomly without a phone call, just a My Chart notification (not even a text). But I guess if you don't have another choice then yeah why not.
