Rma Of New York: Westside's Online Review Report Card

We had our first appointment with Dr. Stein for unexplained fertility in April and I was pregnant by October (after two egg retrievals and two frozen embryo transfers). The Westside office is very well run. I always received phone calls and instructions in a timely manner. The morning monitoring sessions are busy, but that’s to be expected. The nurses are excellent and treat every patient with kindness. We had a few disappointing results throughout our journey and Dr. Stein made sure to call us day of to explain everything. In those moments he was straightforward but empathetic. I always had a list of questions every appointment which Dr. Stein happily answered. He tweaked our protocol after the first egg retrieval, which led to better results the second time. After my first transfer failed I asked for a modified natural cycle, which he accommodated. Overall we are really happy with our experience with RMA Westside! Dr. Stein and the nursing staff are professional, organized, and very good at their jobs. I highly recommend!

I paid $10k+ for a covered procedure on Aug 10, 2025. Three staff members told me the insurance claim had been filed since August — but as of October, their finance office confirmed it was never submitted. It took repeated calls and formal complaints to trigger action. Please double-check your claims early. The nurses and doctors are kind. But I really don’t suggest this place because those procedures are already difficulty emotionally, and their finance team is very messy.

Avoid at all costs. This place churns patients through with no critical thinking or specific patient attention. If you have PCOS, endometriosis, etc., they will not try to get to the root issue and help you, they just want to push you to IVF. Outside of the questionable medical attention, my biggest gripe is with the admin. Nurses take forever to respond, procedures are not explained to you in advance, you do not have a direct line to finance, etc. I had to follow up nine times, including the day of a procedure for them to submit a pre-authorization. To make things worse, after I told them I was no longer seeing them, several weeks later RMA submitted a rogue pre-authorization to my insurance which caused a massive issue. I would seriously avoid this place at all costs. Reproductive health is stressful enough as it is. You don't need the extra layers of stress that RMA creates.

Communicating with the team can be difficult sometimes, although it gets better the more you know them and the more you voice your needs. Finance is a little bit of a mess... BUT I love Dr. Brownridge as my specialist. I also really recommend anyone trust Rayna with listening to your questions and needs. So far, everything Dr. Brownridge predicted has happened, the good and the sad outcomes. I do a lot of my own research and ponder things a lot, so I'm sometimes distrustful of doctors especially when they have to go very fast. But nope, Dr. Brownridge not only listens to me very well, but when I let go and trust her she's always right. I am very impressed by her knowledge and intuitions and also very attached to her. It's also fun and comforting to talk to her. We're still in the weeds of IVF but wanted to put the good word out there for any potential future patients.

Not sure if I'd recommend. They are really not very organized and appointments are always delayed. I came in to start my cycle and when I got there they didn't know why I was here because my care coordinator wasn't in the office yet and there were no notes on my file. They decided to do bloodwork to only then get a call later in the afternoon that I have to come in next day for a sonogram and that baseline is required whenever a cycle starts. So why wasn't that just done today with my bloodwork if it's required? Perhaps it's unique to this specific care coordinator team but really not ideal when I've put everything on hold to go through with this and the office is not making it any easier.

ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF. Ask for billing costs upfront if your insurance doesn’t cover any infertility related costs, including labs $105/ per hormone for example. Ask all the questions, “is this necessary?” “What is this for?” I know they are doing their jobs here, but there are options so you don’t end up with a $1,500 bill for a consult and some bloodwork on your first visit and that’s before anyone even does anything.

I had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr. Daniel Stein, I am beyond grateful to him and his team for the incredible care that they gave me. Everyone in the office is extremely attentive, caring and professional. They made this process that can be challenging at time seamless and wonderful. They are the best at what they do, incredible attention to detail on going communication and transparency at all times. I will always be forever appreciative for giving us the wonderful opportunity to have another baby.

My initial visit was almost two hours delayed. My financial advisor was either misinformed or just simply didn’t really understand how to connect with patients or answer questions. I had three coordinators in six months (I guess there's a problem retaining staff?). I was never once, despite repeated attempts, able to actually get a hold of the medication precert team. Other than my consultation, I never again saw the physician "taking care of me" including for the actual procedure itself!!! Another physician I had never met before did the procedure -- which was never conveyed to me. The entire experience is like cattle being herded or a conveyer belt -- which I would have been okay with if it wasn't for all the inadequacies highlighted above.

Not What It Used to Be: Sadly, this clinic location and more than likely all of the RMA NY clinics have gone from some of the best in the city to some of the worst. I think they are executing cost cutting measures and the communication, logistics and care are plummeting. The counseling from the nursing staff is practically non-existent anymore and the follow-up has been abysmal. My last procedure was the worst medical experience I have ever had and now they outsourced their storage and that coordination and lack of communication has also been a nightmare. It is such a shame because a couple years ago, the experience was top notch. Given how delicate families are who are seeking fertility assistance, I’d caution exploring your other options before considering RMA. It no longer lives up to its reputation and treats you like if you were a number and a chart that they probably didn’t read.

I just started my IVF Journey here with RMA so I just finished the paperwork with them now im just waiting for a call or an email about when I start the medications and egg retrieval. The only reason that I gave this place 4 stars out of 5 is the communication with the care coordinator before it was easy to get to her now it's like I'll be lucky if I get a phone call back but im sure it because she has more people to care for now but I just wish there was more communication that's all
