Sandra Belmont's Online Review Report Card

I undertook PRK laser vision correction with Belmont Eye Center about 6 years ago. I had researched the procedure extensively for over a decade and finally settled on Dr. Belmont after carefully reading up on the leading doctors. I held off doing a review until now so that I could see how effective the surgery was in the long term. Having received such excellent, personalized care from Dr. Belmont and support from her staff (John especially, who went above and beyond), I can happily say that my vision has been perfect since the PRK procedure and I have rarely given a second thought to my eyes ever since. Best decision I ever made. I used to have a high prescription and always wore contacts. The business of making sure I would be able to see was a constant consideration and a huge part of my daily life. I never realized how much time and money I spent with eye care (buying contacts, taking them out and putting them in, eye drops, etc) until I did not have to anymore. The few weeks after the procedure was uncomfortable (burning, teary) and I could not see clearly for awhile (it takes time with PRK for the surface of the eyes to heal) but it was worth it. Having to wear glasses instead of contacts for a few weeks beforehand was also annoying, but who cares about that when the goal is never having to wear them again. Post-procedure, I was seen frequently for checkups, making sure everything was progressing well. I felt very comfortable with the care I received; all my questions were answered and any concerns addressed (there weren’t many). I am so so so glad I finally took the plunge and had the procedure done by an expert like Dr Belmont.

Answered questions. Volunteered crucial information. Approachable. Volunteered to answer any questions I might have in the future.

The whole Belmont team is wonderful!! Dr. Belmont is extremely knowledgeable in her field and quickly calmed my fears when explaining my procedure during our first meetings. I was given a “kit” that had everything I needed for my eye procedure and the day of the surgery was flawless. Dr. Belmont is meticulous, ensuring that I was comfortable during exams and that I had proper healing. John is a wonderful help as well and even stayed with me before my surgery because I said that it made me calmer! The group of doctors and staff made me feel like part of their family- knowing me by name and things we chatted about in the office. They are THE BEST and would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Belmont to anyone considering corrective eye surgery. It was the best decision I ever made! The level of care and attention provided by Dr. Belmont and her staff is exceptional. They are friendly, accommodating, and skilled. Everything leading up to the procedure was well laid out and went smoothly, and they have been thorough in the care afterwards. I do wish that I was given a little more preparation for the recovery time from my procedure to set expectations better, as I was lead to believe would be 24 hours and easy. My recovery was longer than that, which I hadn't been prepared for, though it is not unexpected for the procedure. All in all though, the end results are fantastic, and the care I've received along the way has been great.

Doctor Belmont is a compassionate and extremely gifted surgeon. I can't thank her enough for her care and expertise.

Dr. Belmont never gave me the complete story after my Lasik surgery. I kept going back time after time for about a year since my vision was not even close to corrected. I kept seeing assistants who told me it would take another month for my eyes to adjust. They never did and I gave up. She is more concerned about publicity than actually doing her job. Seeing Dr. Belmont is one of the biggest mistakes I ever made.

Call me disgusted with Dr. Belmont. I am in the medical profession.Was a perfect candidate for Lasik. At the last minute she said she was doing PRK I asked about recovery and she said it's the same as Lasik. I could not have been clearer to her that I was in a new job with high visual demand and had to get back and was a few days enough. The whole experience was a nightmare. They make sure you leave by 30 minutes after it's done. She uses this guy who is not an RN but doubles as a secretary and "RN". He kept giving me steroid opthalmic drops with different directions for weeks. Pain was EXCRUTIANTING for PRK which is normal but she won't tell you that. Mine was worse and lasted weeks. I later found out from a Corneal Surgeon at Columbia who is now following my eyes that it was a bad decision for me. She has never once called me for follow up and dare she don't because if I could I would sue her. She deliberatly misled me. Don't dare go to her. I know what went on. Two words cash cow

I had the lasik surgery with Dr Belmont and within 3 days I saw a huge difference in my vision and now have 20/15 vision. I feel as if I always had perfect vision and didnt have anything done. She was patient, her staff was very helpful and made this experience as good as it can be. She came highly recommened to me and now I have recommended her to friends and family! I could not be more satisfied with all aspects of my PRK experience with Dr. Belmont. After being nearsighted (+5) for most of my life, it is great to no longer feel blind without glasses. I had always wanted to have laser eye surgery, but did not want to take any risk with my eyes. I would only have the surgery if I found a Dr. that I was completely comfortable with. Afer many years of looking, I finally found the Belmont Eye Center. Dr. Belmont and her staff are everything I had hoped for. For anyone who wants to have laser eye surgery, but is concerned about the risks, I highly encourage you to look into the Belmont Eye Center!!!
