Songhui Ma's Online Review Report Card

I came to see her as I relocated and need a new allergist for my situations. I arrived there 20mins before my appointment, but was kept waiting nearly 1 hour until my name called. Through the very short appointment, she rarely looked at me, was just busy browsing my records on computer, and told me no talking to disturb her. She then appeared completely clueless, except kept repeating my previous doctor's note. She also asked me a very basic question which was evidently diagnosed by my previous allergists but she said she never saw that and does not know the knowledge at all. I thought it a waste of time and would leave at once, but the last minute she told me to wait there when she chatted with a nurse about an irrelevant case. A week later the office sent me a bill which ignored my insurance provided at my visit and still tried to charge me the full cost. I had to see another allergist who turned out much better than this experience. Don't come, it is a waste of time.

Instead of addressing the issue I came with, she went through the entire prescription history asking why I was prescribed every single medication on the list. I don’t know what it had to do with the issue I came with but I believe an allergist shouldn’t be concerned why I was prescribed painkillers after a c-section. Please go elsewhere unless you want to be interrogated instead of getting help. She made it look like I was some kind of a junkie seeking to get drugs - and mine me, all I needed was an asthma relief. Never again.

Went in with pretty severe allergy to tree pollen (first year living in NYC). Had developed a sinus infection and needed that treated. She instead wanted to do a complete workup and testing for dozens of different things, a lot that were not related at all to why I was there. Felt very pressured to get all these unnecessary (and very expensive) tests done when I knew what I was having a reaction to. I said no and had to ask for just the treatment of my infection. After a brief argument about these tests, she finally prescribed treatment for the infection and I was out. After she threw a fit. A week later I was fine.

I was referred to Dr. Ma by my ENT and she is the real deal. She has a cool nature about her and is very informative. No wait, no frills, no judgy side comments, no fancy office stuff- just does what needs to get done. Her receptionist/ assistant is also very kind and helpful. Major girl crush on Dr. Ma.

I was referred to Dr. Ma by my ENT, because I am continually sick with respiratory and sinus infections and asthma. She is terrific. She gave me a battery of allergy tests, figured out where my immune deficiencies lie. Now we're going about correcting them, and she has taken over care of my asthma, and she helped me through a really nasty infection earlier this year and developed a treatment plan for the future. She is extremely helpful and accessible and takes time to answer questions. If I send her an email or leave a message, she always responds quite promptly. Best of all, she often answers her phone herself! She has impressed my other doctors, too. I'm lucky I found her.

Dr. Ma received me within 5 min of my arrival even though I was 15 late (I called ahead). Dr. Ma administered the exams and answered my many questions in a pleasant, patient, professional, and informative (for me) manner.

I recently saw Dr. Ma for my allergies and I had a really bad cough which kepted me up all night. I found out that I not only have allergies but a mild case of astma she gave me some meds and I can sleep now. I'm so thankful, I went to other doctors and was just given cough medicine. She listened and took her time with me. Great doctor in my opinion.

I'm glad I didn't read this before I saw her. I've been seeing Dr. Ma for the past 2 years. I had terrible asthma in and out of the hospital all the time. She put me on this shot once a month and I haven't been in the er in a year. She's always kind to me! Would highly reccomend.

I was referred to Dr. Ma by my ENT, who promised me she would take her time to help me figure out my allergy/sinus problems. I have found Dr. Ma to be extremely thorough, patient, and pleasant.
