Dr. Steve Behrens and PA Meaghan Murtagh (HSS at Weil Cornell) are Rock stars in my book. Both very caring, kind and professional but excellentat their craft. I have suffered Bunion pain in both feet since my late teens. I was scared to have the surgery and put it off for years. Now in my 40's I couldn't take it anymore and went in for a consultation and decided on surgery. Dr. S Behrens and PA M Murtagh did my left foot early 2022 and it was the best thing ever. I had a few small incision on the side of my foot and 3 screws implanted. Foot now feels great, it healed well and when the expected after surgery pain ended i have been pain free. Ready to do the right foot. Don't sit around in pain like I did.

After I posted this review, several staff members contacted me. If one schedules and cancels appointments through the app, the office can’t see why the patient is canceling. They had no idea I canceled because of covid. I appreciated they took the time to call and explain what happened. I will go have my foot evaluated tomorrow.

Dr. Behrens saw me immediately following a sports injury. His staff was extremely accommodating and easy to work with. After his medical diagnosis, guidance and some physical therapy I was able to resume competitive sports, and return to the level of play I was at prior to the injury. I highly recommend Dr. Behrens and his team!

In addition to his impressive technical expertise, Dr. Behrens is an incredibly warm and caring physician. His demeanor makes him approachable and puts you at ease. When you’re with him, you know you are in exceptional hands.

My visit with Dr. Steve Behrens exceeded expectations. Dr. Behrens is a fountain of knowledge and took time to explain to me my diagnosis and the best treatment to undergo. I highly recommend him and his team.

I was treated by the Behrens team for foot osteomyelitis and had a really good experience! Surgery and follow-up went really well; Meagan, the PA, was always super responsive and easy to reach; the nurses (like Mike) were lovely and made you feel comfortable; administration sorted out any issues in real time.

I don't know if he is really a good or bad doctor, but I though it was pretty poor that the 2 times that I went to see him at his office on 520 East 70 Street, I was always treated by a Resident and I never even saw his face or spoke with him!.

I went to see him a couple of times and none of the times I had the "honor" to see or speak with him in regard to my broken bone. My problem was handle by a resident. I felt that he does not care enough of some of his patient......

My appointment with Dr. Steve Behrens was everything one expects when visiting a doctor, but unfortunately doesn’t always get. All of his associates ( NP, Drs. Associate Nurse…..I may have that wrong, Meeghan and Michael respectively .:)) interacted with me, spent time asking questions, answering questions, listening and basically making me feel at ease. Dr.Behrens spent ample time with me, answering every question I had, looking at my reports and x-rays and really thoroughly went through what was happening in my healing and the possible risks (or not) of not having surgery again. I felt like we came to a decision together, and I left in a positive frame of mind and will return in 5 weeks. He has vast knowledge ( of course), a great disposition and clearly has compassion for his patients. Positive & effective interaction is such a basic part of dealing and healing…seems so basic, but it isn’t always inherent. I would highly recommend Dr. Behrens and his team.
