List of Susan L. Lucak's Reviews
Horrible staff. Never even got to see the doctor because they had me waiting an hour and I ended up leaving. All of that after being referred by a Weill Cornell PCP and being apart of the network. Doctors admin kept saying I have Medicaid, unbelievably incompetent.
called my mom fat in Czech
Luckily I've been studying how to speak Czech so I knew right away when Dr Lucak called my elderly mom fat in Czech. Otherwise just condescending and you leave feeling bullied
Dr. Lucak is a very thorough doctor.
The positives -She will send woman for thorough testing for woman's issues and is a referral to an excellent PT . Negatives- her style/knowledge is dated. She does not prescribe some of the latest drugs/prokinetics ( or get to root cause), she does not believe in SIBO/IMO. She prescribes linzess/miralax & magnesium citrate daily as though people do not work and can do colonscopy preps every day of their lives. I lost several quality years of my life due to extra pain from her treatment style and b/c she does not follow latest IMO research. I once went to her to flag an acute onset of higher pain (ended up being part of anemia). She advised I needed to learn to live w pain/distract myself. She has patients get a book ab how IBS is connected to anxiety. She really tries to push that angle. Research today debunks this. She actually exhibits signs of anxiety; she cant solve your issue and wants to get you out of her office FAST on one of her dated protocols.
My wife saw Dr Lucak for chronic diarrhea. After examining her record and her abdomen (but not her rectum) she aggressively and confidently stated that she had been treated for the wrong condition. She didn't have diarrhea but chronic constipation, what looked like diarrhea was "overflow", the colon protecting itself from build up. We learned six month later Lucak had failed to see on her record, high doses of magnesium prescribed earlier for another condition and that DIARRHEA CAN BE CAUSED BY MAGNESIUM. Lucak prescribed Miralax, " to be taken every day for the rest of your life". The next 5 months were hell. Everyday was like the night before a colonoscopy. My wife couldn't get more than a few steps from the bathroom. Lucak kept switching to other laxatives in various dosages. Finally after 5 months she said that my wife's problem was incontinence. The GI surgeon she sent us to asked "why are you taking magnesium". 2 weeks after stopping the magnesium my wife's life is back.
Dr. Lucak is a terrific Physician. She is present, that is right there with me as her patient. She listens to me and my complaints or descriptions or questions...and she speaks clearly and wisely when she addresses my concerns. She is very knowledgeable and all her advise to me about my diagnosis and treatment have been helpful and accurate. I strongly recommend anyone looking for an outstanding professional health care provider to see her.
She is an excellent DR very capable, she safe my life
Bad, terrible, the worst. Stay away from this physician she is poison. It was the worst experience of my life in a doctor's office. The physician spent less than ten (10) minutes with me and she was cold and non-caring. I wish I had read these reviews before my appointment as my sentiments mirror most of the reviews found on this page. To top it off she did not help me at all and my condition got worse.
I have had several in person visits with Dr. Lucak and one video visit. She has always been attentive, present, caring, concerned and very helpful. I have always felt at ease with her as she has a reassuring, calming presence while being honest and transparent. She explains everything very well - a caring professor type. I wish all physicians had her professional stature and presence, combined with her supportive bedside manner. I would recommend her without any hesitation to anyone.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
