My experience with Dr. Lewis have been excellent for many years as her patient.

Dr. Lewis and team are amazing, and I think amongst the top handful of celiac specialists in the country. My case isn’t cut and dry and Dr Lewis spent a long initial visit gathering information and helping me make decisions for how to go forward, and connected me with their in house nutritionist who has been amazing. Can’t recommend dr Lewis and this Columbia dept enough.

Dr. Lewis is a very kind, caring and compassionate doctor dedicated to finding better ways of life for her patients. I have recommended her to many friends and families whom also have her a s a doctor. Highly recommend!

Dr. Lewis is brilliant. She analyzes a patient profile in a way that I have never seen before. I have been her patient for about 10-12 years and I'm always so impressed with how thorough and knowledgeable she is. She doesn't rush through the appointment and is tenaciously eager to get to the bottom of things. That's why there is sometimes a wait at her office but it's well worth it! Both my mom and I see her for celiac disease and we couldn't be more pleased. I also do routine colonoscopies with her. Couldn't be happier.

Dr Lewis may be a fine doctor for a patient with celiac. When I brought my child to Dr Lewis, we were uncertain of the diagnosis. My child subsequently was diagnosed with Crohn's. Though a doctor and a gastroenterologist, Dr Lewis was unable to be helpful in any way. Her response to every question about how to progress the diagnosis, who to see, what to do with the sick child was "I don't know". She is not a doctor capable of any degree of out of the box thinking.

Dr. Lewis is an amazing doctor and human being. She goes beyond her duty to ensure that the patient leaves her office in complete confidence that their health is of concern to her and answers all questions until the patient understands.

I had a horrible experience with Dr. Lewis and I do not recommend her. I found her very dry and arrogant. And I after i explained everything to her about pain, and trying to find answer because I haven't been feeling well in such a long time. She just looked at me and said" well what do you want me to do about it?" I usually don't write complaints but I went to another doctor and he found 4 serious conditions with my intestines. So shame on her she didn't even try to diagnose me.

I was very disappointed with my visit with Dr. Lewis. I came to the celiac center because I wanted to see if my gluten intolerance was related to my irregular menstrual cycles (a completely logical and appropriate question). After I explained my symptoms and concerns with Dr. Lewis and stated that I wanted to find out if there is a connection between my cycle and the gluten sensitivity, she interrupted me and said in a rude/arrogant tone "And how do you expect me to do that?" Within the first two minutes of our appointment she had already made me feel uncared for. She treated me with a condescending tone before even hearing my entire story. As I was visibly upset she just tried to do damage control by defending herself. She brought absolutely nothing to the table, answered none of my questions and her arrogant tone was uncomfortable and unapproachable. I do NOT recommend going to see Dr. Lewis. If you would like to be treated with compassion and understanding then she is NOT the right doctor for you. She is the type of doctor that just follows the protocol, asks the questions that she HAS to ask and doesn't treat you like a human being or an individual. I went into my appointment well educated about celiac disease/gluten intolerance and well researched and was only looking for more information and to hear about my options. She mocked me for my desire to learn more with her arrogant attitude from up on her high horse. Dr. Lewis is a "specialist" in something that she had NO answers for. I didn't go to the doctor to have facts about celiac disease regurgitated back at me, I went to the doctor for personal care. To top it off, I waited over an hour in the waiting room for her only to be disrespected within the first 2 minutes of our conversation. If you go to this center....DON'T SEE DR. LEWIS...trust me!

Dr. Lewis is a doctor that does not care. Her assistant Yvonne is even worse. Impossible to get a straight answer. Impossible to get a call back on test results. She should not be a doctor. She is an entitled person who does not care.

Dr. Lewis is great, but her assistant Yvonne is a nightmare, as is getting her to call you back. I've almost left her several times due to frustration.
