Taraneh Nazem's Online Review Report Card

Nazem is personally friendly and easy to talk to but ultimately she is not a good doctor. Lacks attention to detail, multiple failed transfers when other doctors in the practice using worse embryos had success with me, never calls to speak or let you know of successes or failures. She really makes you feel like a number and a cash source it’s a shame how disengaged she seems albeit with a smile on her face. The facility overall is totally chaotic- almost never got called back in a timely fashion, didn’t know which locations to send me to, rude nurses, dismissive tone, call back service never responds… I could go on but just steer clear of Nazem it’s a waste of time and energy and her smiley pitch is misleading on every level.

I was very disappointed with Dr. Nazem and RMA. I easily got pregnant with my daughter in 2018 but had two miscarriages in the a year since we started trying for a second in 2021. I went to Dr. Nazem in March 2022. I met with her and had a nice long talk and she was very kind, she then did an ultrasound and a ton of bloodwork. Everything came back normal (although she never personally told me) and i was told it was simply an age thing (I was 40) and I should do IVF. I decided to first try an IUI because my insurance covered it and from what I had read if everything was normal it was likely I wouldn’t have 3 miscarriages and it would just help me get pregnant, though she pushed for IVF from the beginning. Throughout the IUI process I never spoke with Dr Nazem, only a different nurse every time. She didn’t perform the IUI or see me at any of the appointments beforehand. It didn’t work, but I still never talked to her. I ended up getting pregnant on my own right after and having another miscarriage, I called to let them know what happened and that I was ready to do IVF. Still never talked to her, only different nurses and her financial coordinator. No one was concerned that I had another miscarriage. Because RMA is closed for December, I decided to look at other doctors and I’m so glad I did. When I met with my new doc, he told me that 3 miscarriages (even less than that) should be looked into further. He said I should do a hysteroscopy, which we did, and he found out that I have chronic endometritis (which can cause recurrent miscarriages) and is treatable by 2 weeks antibiotics. Dr. Nazem never suggested a hysteroscopy or that anything other than my age could be causing my miscarriages. She was going to send me straight to IVF where if it worked I would have probably had another miscarriage because of the endometritis. I feel like I wasted a year of my fertility (I'm now 41) not knowing this and that my last baby could have worked had we done the hysteroscopy when I first saw her. Very disappointed by the lack of thoroughness and attention.

Doctor was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. Had to wait an absurdly long time. We waited over 40 min for 20 min of conversation.

Infertility treatment is hard enough. Emotionally and physically. The doctor should be available for you emotionally at such a trying time. This was not the case with Dr. Nazem. I left RMA feeling in complete distress. I would not recommend this doctor at all. No bedside manner at all. Horrifying experience.

Dr. Nazem is excellent. She is fully engaged with you from the moment she enters the exam room. She has great positive, upbeat energy and explains everything very thoroughly and puts you at ease.
