List of Teena Shetty's Reviews
After my daughter’s fourth concussion and almost as many visits to not-very-helpful doctors, we finally found Dr. Shetty. We knew immediately we’d come to the right place. No more sitting around and waiting to get better. Instead, Dr. Shetty performed thorough examinations, prescribed an immediately helpful regime of physical therapy, vitamins, and reduced screen time, followed up weekly, and coordinated care with my daughter’s school so they knew how to accommodate her. Dr. Shetty’s team is competent and warm. My daughter never got better so fast.

Concussions aren’t easy. Headaches aren’t fun. They know that at HSS. And they know what to do about it. Thank you, Dr. Shetty and the HSS concussion team. I had a concussion which wasn’t responding to the usual treatment. After months, I was referred to Dr. Shetty. Improvements were immediate. They gave me back my pre-injury life – headache free days and an eagerness to be up, out and about each day, just like before. There’s a difference between Dr. Shetty and others. Her approach to concussions involves an entire team of physician specialists, therapists and other practitioners who talk and plan with each other, which means that care will be comprehensive, monitored and, when needed, adjusted. Unlike others, Dr. Shetty knows that each concussion requires individualized treatment. The plan for me won’t be the same plan as for someone else, but that’s ok -- Dr. Shetty knows how to find the answer for that someone else. Did I say thank you? I can’t say it enough.
I’m “back in the game,” as patients often say at Hospital for Special Surgery. Concussions aren’t easy. Concussion headaches aren’t fun. They know that at HSS. And they know what to do about it. Thank you, thank you, Dr. Shetty and the HSS concussion clinic team. After 8 months under treatment (or should I say observation) at another academic medical center in NYC with absolutely no progress, I sought out Dr. Shetty at HSS. I needed help. I had a constant headache that had been unresponsive to rest and a number of medications. I was essentially home bound. In less that 3 months, Dr. Shetty’s concussion team gave me back some very precious things – headache free days, miles of running again every morning and an eagerness to be up, out and about each day, just like before. Did I say thank you? I can’t say it enough. Here’s the difference between Dr. Shetty and others. Her approach to concussions involves an entire team of experts that meet and speak to each other, which means that care will be detailed, comprehensive, monitored and, when needed, adjusted. Unlike others, Dr. Shetty’s approach is not one size fits all or “let’s wait and see” because she knows that each concussion is unique, requiring individualized treatment. Her multi-disciplinary team works hard to get its patients better and as quickly as possible. The team in my case started with several specialized physical therapists (neck, vestibular, and exercise), a headache physician, a pain management physician, an acupuncturist, a neuropsychologist, and a behavioral therapist. For me, once the dust settled, we focused on neck PT, aerobic exercise therapy, and acupuncture. But that’s what worked for me. Someone else? Not to worry. Dr. Shetty and her team will find the answer for that someone.
Dr. Shetty and staff are FANTASTIC. I came in with a severe concussion from getting hit by a car, riding my bike. Dr. Shetty had an action plan which included physcial therapy, rest, vitamins, sleep, limited screen time. It worked!!!!!
Dr. Shetty had a gameplan to tackle my severe brain trauma caused by getting hit by a car on my bicycle. I was in a complete fog. Dr. Shetty and staff gave me a strict plan which I followed which included physical therapy, rest, limited screen time, vitamins, sleep..... It worked.
After having a mis-diagnosed concussion, Dr. Shetty's concussion protocol resolved my issues and got me back on track. The program is comprehensive and helpful.
Dr. Shetty and her staff gave me my life back after I suffered a bad accident. Everyone at her office is extremely knowledgeable and caring. The entire team works as a unit to address every issue needed for a successful recovery. Before I saw Dr. Shetty I went to four other neurologists that had no answers or treatment plan. I was told by other dr.s "the concussion will resolve it's self" but after two months of suffering I wasn't improving. I finally saw hope and improvement after seeing Dr. Shetty and her team. Forever grateful.
My 16 year old daughter just got through her second concussion and we would not have gotten through it without Dr. Shetty, George and the rest of the concussion clinic team. Dr. Shetty is warm and caring, she takes the time to explain the protocol. There is no other doctor I would want to care for my child during such a scary and sensitive time.
I am extremely grateful to George Skulikidis, Lauren, and the rest of Dr. Shetty's team for getting me back on my feet and back to myself physically, mentally, and emotionally, after my concussion. The teamwork and communication is impeccable, they are truly knowledgeable and top notch, and sincerely kind and compassionate. I would not be where I am today without their help!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
