List of Tina Mathew's Reviews
Unprofessional, rude, condescending and poor bedside manners. She did not even know what she is ordering half of the time. She failed to make the even the most basic diagnosis and work up. She is unable to give a reason why she orders certain tests and then yells at the patient for asking. I would not go to NYP WCMC as long as she continues to work there.
It’s scary that this physician is still practicing and that cornell has not fired her. She was planning to discharge my mom with NEUROLOGICAL symptoms without an orthopedic evaluation. This is borderline malpractice. She is callous and unprofessional. She rolled her eyes at us when we asked why a CT scan is ordered. She told us because of her symptoms. BUT IT WASNT ORDERED FOR US! It was ordered ...
After waiting 4 hours in a relatively calm ER (11pm-3am), Tina Matthew failed to rule out the most likely diagnosis with appropriate testing (portal vein thrombosis), perhaps unaware of the poor sensitivity of her chosen test without the appropriate protocol, and also failing to recognize that the results were suggestive of that diagnosis (superior mesenteric collateral veins present, mistakenly deemed stable by the radiologist in error as comparison was made with a past scan when active clot was present, and since been resolved). Not recognizing this, she then failed to do any further testing, and despite my history of having presenting to the ER twice in the past (and only twice) and having major clots both times, she shrugged off all presenting symptoms without any further testing. Did not talk to my primary physician who directed me to go to the ER despite being affiliated with the same hospital. I could barely respond when by primary provider asked what my d dimer (blood test for clot) was and I had to say “she didn’t draw it. I did point this out to her, although I didn’t see my CT was as concerning as now realize it was, and she was beyond dismissive.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
