Avoid this doctor and unprofessional practice. I had scheduled and appointment for a new patient in May of this year and waited 5 months for my October 1 appointment. The appointment was canceled in July, as I later found out, by sending me a MyChart message that i did not see until i called to confirm my appointment on September 30th. I will not be continuing any relationship with this doctor specifically or Mount Sinai hospital in general since this is the type of unreliable and unprofessional customer service they provide.

Dr. Yen's responsiveness, diligence, and follow through is poor. Perscriptions were often written incorrectly, failed to monitor patient progress, and caused harm by not monitoring patient closely. The office is lackluster and could use some help.

Dr. Yen rocks! Having thyroid issues is so frightening but under his care, I felt reassured. He is very thorough, explains all of the possibilities and systematically rules things out. I love that methodology and practice! I feel very lucky knowing I have one of the best endocrinologists in my medical care team.

Dr. Yen is great in person – he was attentive and prescriptive as we ran through my medical history and questions about a potential switch in insulin pump therapy. Post appt communication has not been very good. I have only received a response to one of my messages (of 5 requests) to Dr. Yen through the Mt. Sinai portal. So far, I have experienced multi-week lags when asking for prescriptions / authorizations. The team I spoke with on the phone estimates 24-48 hours (excluding holidays / weekends) for responses but that has not been my experience thus far. One prescription was not sent in at all, and after following up through the portal, was still not filled. Fortunately it was not one that I was in desperate need of. I expect I have just experienced outliers, as others seem to be happy with Dr. Yen's patient communication.

I am one whose very big on customer service and i was very impressed. Great bedside manners, very knowledgeable and informative. I've been to doctors where it feels like I left a 2 sec visit feeling more confused than how I went in but Dr Yen took his time and go into every details. I am so happy that I finally found a good endocrinologist.

Dr. Yen is a wonderful doctor. He’s so knowledgeable and listens to all your concerns. His care for me over the years has been exceptional. I recommend him to everyone. I am so glad I found him all those years ago.
