I am very disappointed by this practice. They gave me wrong information about coverage and then it was difficult to get the issue handled / would not answer the phone for months. On top of that, they charged my card (which they claimed they never had on file!) without confirmation.
Dr Gutkovich is by far the most thoughtful, caring, and compassionate therapist/ psychiatrist I have come across in my lifetime, as a dyed in the wool New Yorker, exposed to therapy of all kinds for many many years. As a parent of an adolescent post pandemic, his approach to the associated and knock on effects of the lock down and pandemic in kids has been spot on. He is incredibly supportive and interested in his clients as well as forthcoming and professional with parents. I would recommend him to anyone seeking a solid foundation for a course of restorative mental health services
I am a registered nurse with years of experience in working with different physicians. Dr. Gutkowich is the first doctor I have met in my personal and work life who exhibits all the properties of someone that genuinely cares about his patients as a human being. His vast expertise, as well as his deep level of commitment to help, contributed greatly to saving my daughter's life. Dr. Gutkowich goes beyond what anyone would expect to find the most optimal solution for the patient's problem. Thank you, Dr. Gutkowich, for being there for my family!
I made the very big decision to start up therapy again and was referred here by my primary care Dr. I signed up for an appointment to have an intake call which is marketed as being a 20 minute session to match you with a therapist. When the time for the appointment came, I was never contacted as it stated I would be in my confirmation email. So I called their main office where the receptionist told me she could do my intake call. OK great. After taking down my name, and not asking any questions whatsoever about what or who I was looking for and for what, she steamrolled me by saying "I have one therapist who is in your insurance's network." Let me double check that he has availability. After being put on a brief hold, she came back to me stating that he had no availability and all their other providers in network had no availability but that I could be put on a waitlist. WOW. Great service. Thanks for the options. Perhaps some communication upfront would have been better than wasting my time here. Precious time I took out of my work day to actually commit myself to my health. Also, if she had read my inquiry form at all, she would have seen that I specifically requested a female therapist. This is really terrible customer service, with a terrible lack of communication for a prospective client interested in your services. Stay away and go find someone/somewhere that's actually organized and cares about YOUR CARE. This is not the place. Based on other reviews, it looks like I'm not alone.
The Therapy Center of New York (TCNY), maybe the biggest private practice group in the city, has 8 full time supportive staff members who provide structure, support, and have excellent organization. Dr. Inamdar, a professor at NYU School of Medicine has been incredibly helpful to me. He is relatable, and an incredibly talented clinician, with knowledge and wisdom that has helped me live a more full life. I have met many other clinicians before and none have been as helpful and good to me as he has. He has also done family therapy for me and my family, which has allowed me to build stronger relational bonds. I cannot imagine what my life would be like without him, he is the best clinician I could have asked for.
I've been seeing Dr. Inamdar for over ten years. He has played an integral part in my psycho-social and emotional development and has helped me understand and confront black-and-white thinking. He is kind, caring, and accommodating. I have been to many clinicians over the years and I've been going to Dr. Inamdar for over a decade now because he's the best!
I am a 45 year old male and have been a patient of Dr. Subhash Inamdar at the Therapy Center of NY for well over a year now, consistently attending regular appointments on a weekly basis. Previously, I had been seeing psychiatrists on Long Island, where I used to live, for more than a decade. The office staff at the Therapy Center of NY run a highly efficient and effective practice administratively. All of my interactions with them have been very positive, pleasant experiences. They have always been helpful, understanding, supportive, respectful, and professional. Not once have I experienced an issue with insurance or billing, getting prescriptions filled, rescheduling an appointment, or receiving a return phone call. The adminstrative staff, as well as the doctors themselves, have always been super flexible, readily accessible, and extremely responsive to my needs as a patient. Not only that but the physical office itself presents an aesthetically pleasing, comfortable, relaxing, and private therapeutic environment. Having battled severe anxiety for most of my adult life, along with OCD and ADD, I can honestly say that Dr. Inamdar is a psychiatrist unlike any of the others from whom I've sought treatment in the past. Dr. Inamdar genuinely cares about his patients. He's not the type of doctor to just fill prescriptions and send you on your merry way. Instead he takes the time to patiently work through a patient's emotional and psychological issues by employing a combination of talk therapy, relaxation/deep breathing exercises, meditation/mindfulness techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, and a variety of other cutting-edge disciplines in his field. Literally, this man has changed my life! Most amazingly, however, was another severe medical ailment of mine for which Dr. Inamdar ultimately found the cure. The ailment was physical in nature and something wholly unrelated to Dr. Inamdar's profession (or so I thought, naively). For the last three plus years I had been suffering terribly from what several gastroenterologists independently diagnosed as chronic idiopathic constipation. I was prescribed by these gastroenterologists different types of medications -- Linzess, Amitiza, Trulance, etc. -- none of which worked very effectively; all of which had terrible side effects, such as severe diarrhea; and all of which attempted to treat the symptoms of the disease but not its underlying cause. I also underwent every test imaginable but to no avail -- colonoscopies, endoscopies, fructose breath tests, and tests for bacterial overgrowth, Celiac's, lactose intolerance, you name it. Meanwhile, my chronic idiopathic constipation was getting progressively worse, significantly impacting my quality of life as a consequence. I mentioned this to Dr. Inamdar in passing at the start of a routine therapy session about 6 months ago when he asked me how I was doing. At first I thought he was just making polite small talk before getting down to the real business of discussing the progress we were making in treating my OCD and ADD symptoms. I was therefore a little surprised when he continued on with a long series of follow up questions related to my chronic idiopathic constipation diagnosis. Dr. Inamdar confidently reassured me that he thought he could help. He explained that there is a strong mind-body connection and, to that extent, the gastrointestinal system is sometimes even referred to as the "second brain." (It is worth mentioning that my current gastroenterologist was extremely supportive of Dr. Inamdar's approach in this regard.) Remarkably, after a little trial and error, Dr. Inamdar and I settled on a treatment plan that actually worked. Admittedly, I was more than just a bit skeptical in the beginning but Dr. Inamdar ultimately fixed within a very short period of time what had been a debilitating condition of mine for the last three plus years. Alas, I am not exaggerating in the least when I tell you that I haven't felt better, either mentally or physically, in a really, REALLY long time. Thank you for giving me my life back Dr. Inamdar! Five great big giant stars for the Therapy Center of NY in general and Dr. Inamdar in particular.
I have been a patient of Dr. Inamdar for quite some time now, he is very courteous, insightful, experienced in his field. He has helped me with controlling my panic attacks and also has helped me to determine if my other illness can be related to panic attacks and anxiety, he is also a professor and an MD. His qualifications are outstanding and I highly recommend him to others.
I recently wrapped up talk therapy with Victoria Miller after years of working with her and can't recommend her enough. Victoria is an LCSW and an unbiased advocate who listened, gave support and counsel, and also knew when to be firm and call me out on some of my negative patterns. I really appreciated her help and the safe environment she and Therapy Center of New York provided.
Dr. Inamdar is a wonderful Dr. who has made it possible for me to finally get my panic attacks and anxiety under control.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process.
