When I saw doctor Bloomgarden his visit where through and complete
He is a RIPOFF!!! Overcharges, does not accept insurance, and makes up stories that he must use his own lab. He is very smart but looking to milk the system or the patients.
Another commenter here seems to have a vendetta against Dr. Bloomgarden, which is too bad, because he's an excellent doctor: compassionate, thorough, brilliant and up-to-date. I have to wonder what would make this other commenter so resentful, because he's plastered his vague yet negative comments all over the internet.
I am extremely satisfied with Dr Bloomgarden. He is always attentive. He is a genuine and caring physician. I have utmost confidence in him and his advice. One of the best doctors with whom I have ever been associated. I find the office staff equally professional. I have never given any one five stars across the board but in Dr Bloomgarden's case he deserves nothing less. I highly recommend him.
great doctor very thorough taks time to talk with patients. One of the most knowledgeable doctors and also very good at understanding patient issues
The doctor is distant and uncaring. The office is dirty and run like a factory. The staff are unfriendly. This all could be excused if the doctor was bright, helpful, or a good diagnostician. Sadly, the doctor was too busy entered information into his computer and running out of the office to see the next patient. None of my questions could be answered and when I asked to speak to the doctor again, his nursing assistant came in and said it would be a long wait. She tried to answer my questions but had absolutely no idea about how to answer. I left feeling that my time was wasted and that I have to now find a better doctor. Highly disappointed.
This was far and away the worst doctor I have ever been to. In addition to the fact that the office is filthy and that they confuse urine specimens left un-labeled in their bathroom, the doctor is absolutely passive, disinterested, and on auto-pilot. He never even gives eye contact and prefers to type information about you into a computer template so he can save time. He may have been half-way decent in his younger years, but is no longer up-to-date on new concepts in endo research and practice. His diagnostic skills are questionable at best and were highly disputed by another well-respected endocrinologist in NYC. If I can save one patient from this horrid practitioner, then it was worth my poor experience.
I had to cancel an appointment twice because of being put into the hospital; when I called to make a new appointment, the staff said she would not make another appointment. I could not believe that the receptionist can get away with treating patients this way, but I am sure I am not the first patient treated this way, and it reflects poorly on the doctor. The doctor seems knowledgeable in his field, although his recommendation was disputed by another doctor. The doctor's bedside manner is average. The wait time in the office is unacceptable and it can take hours to get into the appointment and get through it.
The only thing that makes me unsure of the total rating is that I can't tell yet what his skills as a doctor are. However, he and his office staff are honestly the rudest people I have ever met. In person and over the phone, they have such attitude and disrespect for their patients. They do not care at all about you and are completely inconsiderate. The doctor tries to escape from seeing you/talking to you as fast as possible and you have to pull him back. They are not helpful in answering questions. Everything seems like they are dragging their feet and doing the least possible for you.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
