I have seen Dr. Castro for the past 2.5 years. After having a horrible experience with a Crystal Run endocrinologist, he was a nice change of pace. He takes the time to listen, answers questions appropriately without making me feel less than, unlike many other doctors. He was the 1st endocrinologist in several years to get my thyroid disease in a stable place. Amazing doctor and I highly recommend him!
My first visit with Dr. Castro went well. He took the time to explain what type of testing he wanted me to do and why he needed me to do it. He is a very nice doctor and I am glad I was referred to him. I will definitely recommend him.
Terrible staff they dont care about your health!! good Doctor and nurse practitioner!!!
Dr Jonathan Castro runs an efficient office. Ive never had to wait. He will spend as much time as the patient wants. He has come up with novel ideas how to help conditions. Would recommend him.
Dr. Castro encouraged me to use metformin's nausea and diarrhea side effects as a way to lose weight, much like bulimia purging. He did not listen to my medical history despite having seen an another endocrinologist for over decade. He told me to eat less than 1000 calories a day and use medications to purge. He ignored my concerns about my menstruation in a way that was borderline transphobic. He did not let me talk or listen to me in any meaningful way and acted as if I did not know anything about my body or endocrinology despite having followed up every few months for over a decade with my previous endocrinologist. He was rude, fatphobic, sexist, and a bad doctor.
Wonderful caring Doctor and Staff I have been with Doctor Castro over 7 years he is amazing and so is his staff.
Dr Castro, is more than a doctor, he's become a trusted friend. Someone I trust with my life. Not to many people can say that in this day and age. If you're looking for this type of relationship, a provider who's straight shooter and practices what he preaches, Dr Castro's your man!!

Very good visit - I heard from others what a lovely man he was and now I experienced it. Recommend him highly
I was told that Dr. Castro was intelligent, cooperative to work with, and explained issues. I was stunned to be treated so negatively, to not be heard when I asked questions, and to be told I had a disease other than what I came in for. Three other medical sources agree that I don't have the disease he diagnosed, and when I asked for management direction, I was given no direction beyond changing my life style, when the conversation never included discussion of that life style. I don't know if he was having a bad day, but his presumptions bordered on insulting, and I left the office very upset over what my other doctors say is a misdiagnosis, and being talked down to. I don't feel like I was listened to at all and I am accustomed to working WITH my physician team for my well-being. This was clearly a one-way path, which didn't seem to include any input from me, particularly as I have a complex medical history. I have the sense that my history has scared him . He needed to review my history with me, at this first visit, rather than simply take my blood pressure, with no diagnostic exam beyond that. Very disappointing, as I thought Had found someone who could help me manage my issues. Not so.
He is the most caring doctor. I hope he stays in this area a very long time.
Excellent Doctor! Takes the time to listen and educate Absolutely outstanding!
Dr. Castro is truley unique in his approach to patient care. He takes the time to educate the patient and encourages life changes that help to "cure" metabolic desease. Highly reccomend Dr. Castro. He literally saved my life.
Dr. Castro is by far the nicest and most excellent Doctor I have ever seen! I went to him about a year ago with severe chronic fatigue and thought maybe I had hypothyroidism. It turns out I don't, but I do have a non endocrinology related chronic health condition. My semi rare condition would have most certainly been missed by other doctors, but he was so thorough and very attentive. He really spent a lot of time diagnosing me properly and for that I am eternally grateful to him. Go see him!
After my consultation with Dr. Castro today, I feel compelled to write a review. Anyone looking for an excellent endocrinologist, look no further. His office staff is friendly & helpful. They had all of my info & lab results in the system for review prior to my visit. Dr. Castro was knowledgeable, took the time to review everything with me & genuinely cared about how i've been feeling & how to correct the problem. He has a great bed-side manner & did not rush me through the appointment. I feel confident with this assessment & with moving forward in his care. Thank you Dr. Castro & staff!
Excellent endocrinologist, Explains thoroughly what blood tests means and why he is prescribing drugs. Excellent bedside manners.
I find Dr. Castro a very warm and caring Doctor. he explains things at my level, so I can understand it. Any questions are ok for him and he takes his time answering everything and explaining. Quite a breath of fresh air in this world of hmo's and managed care.
I found Dr. Castro to be very knowledgable in type 1 diabetes management. I highly recommend him to those seeking a new doctor for better diabetes care.
I feel that Dr. Castro is an amazing doctor, that listens to his patients and spends quality time with them. On my first visit, he spent an hour with me, just review all the previous blood work and had done and he took the time to explain what each part meant. I am very happy to have found him :)
Horrible bed-side manner. Extremely arrogant and one who insults the intelligence. He had erroneous information and was insistent about it being correct. He does not give the patient credit for knowing their own body. Defensive. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone. This physician belongs in the laboratory away from patients. To justify his fee, he keeps the patient longer in the examination room unnecessarily. He does not give the patient credit for having a modicum of common sense or the ability to know that something is amiss in their system. This is a doctor who arrogantly believes he absolutely knows everything and the patient knows nothing.
