List of Joseph Bax's Reviews
Dr. Bax's staff will not answer any call backs. Nothing. I've left 15 messages with his answering service. Just plain UNPROFESSIONAL!!!
They over book . We arrived early and others that came in after us were let back first . Someone dropped the ball they were supposed to contact my insurance company for important tests to be done and they did not do that . So I called to share my complaint and someone performed the magic and had the test done and she even thought it was unexceptionable.,well I lost it today after waiting a hour in pain . I have several broken bones so I could not sit . So my husband went up and got all my reports and out the door I left now looking for another doctor. I will never step foot in there again . Good luck if you go bring a stack of books to read because they book to many for the same time .
The Bax doctors take good care of people with broken bones - but the access to their parking lot has a large, lateral pot hole. If large stones would be mixed with black top and then steam rollered - this would restore the entrance { After the pot hole divot is completely cleaned } !
Allergy testing for both my kids went well ... Although they can never seem to spell or say my oldest name correctly... Even booked him under the wrong name. It's the lady at the front desk... Shes horrible ... And always complains about how tired she is from being there since 6, very unprofessional
Awful provider. I would give zero stars. I am still suffering. I fell down my basement stairs October 2019. I went to Dr. Bax thinking he was capable in fixing my broken wrist after going to Urgent Care. I wish I never stepped foot in his office. He set my wrist WITHOUT any injection to numb the pain. It hurt like hell. Then did a very sloppy job of my cast. He put the cast on before the swelling had even gone down. My insurance lapsed in November 2019. He refused to see me without payment. My insurance finally was reinstated at the end of November. By that time things had taken a turn for the worst. He did an X-ray and noticed that NOW I needed surgery when it should have been done from the get go. Dr Bax is a surgeon, but tried to pass me off to his buddy to do the surgery. I am still in pain. My right hand is my dominant hand. I have young children and can hardly use hand to paint, write or to even wipe after using the bathroom. I would advise going elsewhere.
If I could give Zero stars I would. This place is AWFUL and incompetent. I went to Bax October 31, 2019 after falling down my basement stairs. Dr. Bax took X-rays. He said my right wrist was broken. So he set my wrist mind you with NO PAIN relief. No injection into my wrist NOTHING. It was so incredibly painful. Then he put the cast on. My insurance lapsed November 1, 2019. The receptionist said Dr. Bax would NOT see me unless I paid out of pocket. So I had to go to the NF Memorial Hospital after Bax talked to my.husband. I had severe anxiety due to this cast. So they did X rays. I was never told how those turned out. I still had not seen Bax the whole month of NOVEMBER. I finally was reinstated by my insurance and Bax saw me at the end of November. He did another X-ray and it was determined that I now needed surgery. Dr. Bax is a surgeon, however he tried to send me to a new provider. The receptionist said he was very good friends with. I never went through with the surgery. I have 2 young children and I thought Bax was trying to cover things up. Today I am still in a lot of pain. I can write, but it is painful. Painting is very difficult. Doing day to day tasks is very hard. Even wiping after going to the bathroom is hard. I am disgusted that my wrist is now inoperable something Bax should have fixed. No doctor wants to touch me because of liability. If you want your bones to be further messed up go here. I tried seeing a lawyer and went to the Medical board. Now I get to live with pain with a non-functional wrist. I highly do not recommend Dr. Bax.
My husband had shoulder surgery with Dr. Bax . he is a nice guy , his clinic is dirty , my husband had surgery during pandemic COVID 19 , we never seen them disinfecting rooms after its served , person who take care of bills is a joke , she was charging my husband $80 every visit , (our co pay is $40 ) telling us we have $40 balance , I called our insurance and find out that after surgery visits co pay is included for 90 days and we should not pay any co pay , i believe her name is Cathy or Nancy , she made me go there 4 times to get our money back , horrible experience , we will never go back there and do not recommend that place
Messed up my kneee, only had me one day of pt of how to walk up the steps and down the steps that was it. Also kept telling me that it was normal for my knee to be like that and it takes 9 months to heal well here it is at least almost 5 years later NEVER HEALED RIGHT😡😡😡
I am writing a review for Dr Joseph Bax at Mount Sinai NYC. It is the same name but different location. So I think it is the same doctor. But he is located at Mount Sinai NYC. Dr. Bax is such a kind man and so professional and much more knowledgable than any physiatrist I have seen at other hospitals. I have seen some at fancy pants hospitals that didn't know half as much as him!Plus he doesn't try to prescribe a bunch of un- necessary meds or procedures.I highly recommend him!
I came here for a cast on my broken wrist, and not even 2 weeks the cast is unraveling. Dr did a sloppy job on my cast and insurance lady was pretty rude.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
