List of Khushru R. Irani's Reviews
I went to Dr. Irani for my 2 pregnancies and deliveries. My second was delivered by the on call doctor while he was vacation. It was then that I realized he didn’t have the best bedside manner. I missed my annual during the pandemic but finally made it in last week. I thought I’d give him a shot. I complained of heavy periods and clots. He was abrasive and only pushed the agenda of IUD or the pill on me. I explained my fear of side effects because of my age. To which he mocked me about fearing those side effects and not health issues because of my weight! (I’m a size 12). He never addressed my concerns and was outright mad that I didn’t feel comfortable about an IUD. I left feeling terrible. I don’t know what’s changed but his bedside manner is severely lacking.
During my first pregnancy Dr Irani would insult m weight gain at every appointment and tell me with absolute certainty that I was going to be diabetic. Even when the test came back that I wasn’t he still would make remarks saying that my baby was fat and that I was going to need a c section. Thank god he was on vacation when I went into labor. My son ended up being 7 pounds (not the 10 pound “fat” baby he predicted) and I suffered from undiagnosed preeclampsia. During appointments he would try to calm me down in a very patronizing way and pushed birth control on me very aggressively during my follow up. I lost my singing voice after having my baby and when I shared my concern he looked at me like I was crazy and just continued to push birth control. If you want a positive experience where you’re not treated like an idiot, and like a child please go to another doctor.
Dr. Irani was my doctor through two pregnancies, gestational diabetes, retained placentas, advanced maternal age, tubal ligation and the circumcision of our son. He kept us safe and was so knowledgeable. He is very honest with his advice and always has your health and the baby’s health in mind! He is so skilled and calm under pressure! He saved me from hemorrhaging after my first delivery. A different dr was on call for my second delivery and I was not so lucky. That dr was good but just didn’t compare with Dr Irani. We love Dr Irani!
BEST
I was just in for a checkup and I was appalled at how I was treated. I showed up with a mask on, which was required anyway, and I was berated over not being vaccinated, despite the fact that hippa law protects against being asked personal health questions such as that. But I ignored it. Once I was in the room, we had a discussion about contraception. I had been on the mini pill after the birth of my most recent child, and was wanting to switch back onto the full pill. I was then berated over my choice to use the pill instead of an iud. He had no right to criticize my choice in birth control. It’s my body. But after reluctantly agreeing to give me the pill, I then asked for a specific one, which I had used before at a different obgyn. He told me that he’d never heard of it and therefore wouldn’t prescribe it. He tried to give me something else with horrible reviews and said “see you again when you get pregnant with your pill baby.” I couldn’t believe the rudeness. I won’t be back.
I strongly DO NOT recommend Dr. Khushru Irani based on the substandard care he provided to my daughter who is a first time mom to be and experiencing extreme morning sickness symptoms known as Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Due to COVID-19, my daughter must attend her GYN appts. alone. On 12/31/20, she met with Dr. Irani and described how severe her symptoms are and indicated HG. He proceeded to mock her and stated that HG was a strong word to use for morning sickness. After a quick office visit, which is typical these days, he prescribed her meds and told her to return in 3 weeks. As of 1/1/21, my daughter is hospitalized due to dehydration and electrolytes imbalance due to constant vomiting and nausea daily. I understand HG is a rare condition BUT it is a real condition and any physician especially an OB/GYN Specialist needs to be educated and less ignorant on how to treat this rare condition for this is a HEALTH, LIFE, and DEATH situation for the mother and unborn child.
Something I never spoke on. At maybe 11 weeks pregnant I had to switch OB’s because Dr.Irani told me I should terminate my baby or he will 100% be born premature. Absolutely NO bedside manners toward a first time TEEN mom, SAD. He said this because I had a “subcorionic hematoma” which he treated like it was very uncommon & the worst thing. When I switched OB’s to the doctor that delivered my siblings and I, he said it’s VERY common & it had cleared up by the 3rd time I seen him. I am very glad I didn’t stay with irani, I now have a Perfectly healthy, happy handsome baby soon to be 4 months.
Dr Irani understands your concerns and he is very much supportive. I highly recommend him.
I have delivered my first child recently and I can say for sure that after meeting Dr. Khusru Irani I knew that I was in good hands. Being a first time mother and far from my family members I was very nervous but he was so compassionate and helpful that i didn't feel any stress of pregnancy. With his guidance and care it went so smoothly. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced OB. He is truly the best.
I highly recommend Dr. Irani (Mr) if you are looking for a highly experienced and knowledgeable OB to follow you through our your pregnancy and for your delivery. He recently delivered my first baby and my husband and I could not have felt more comfortable throughout the process because we knew we were in good hands. He delivered all 3 on my nephews and my niece! Mrs. Dr. Irani is also fantastic and my mom and sis her have nothing but good things to say about her for OB surgeries she has done for them. The office staff makes you feel welcomed and it has a homey atmosphere. You see the same nurse every time which helps with continuum of care. You can tell the Iranis love what they do and really care. Could not say enough good things about this practice and the Iranis!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
