List of Rana Bitar Jacob's Reviews
Yesterday started a new chapter in my book of life. I have been seeing Dr. Jacob for 3-1/2 years for leukemia. The doctor is not new to me - my husband was her patient since she started her career at Upstate Hem/Onoc. originally at Ellis Hospital. She is a caring, knowledgeable and sweet doctor who listens and gives you the options she has. The office personnel is top notch too. I know that they should care but, I think, they truly do. This is a “family” that I needed and I knew them from being my husband’s family.
Dr.Jacob excellent staff are very kind and wonderful and chemo nurses wonderful k and kind staff are friendly caring there best staff . Dr. Jacob she is so intelligent ,caring and. Kind
I have worked for Dr. Jacob since 2003. Dr. Jacob is a brilliant, hardworking, dedicated physician. Dr. Jacob holds herself and all those around her to very high standards. At UHO you will receive quality, compassionate care in a comfortable setting. I encourage Dr. Jacob's many patients to add their own feedback. Thank you
Great staff. Dr Jacob was very knowledgeable and explains things.
I would not recommend this practice. My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic liver cancer in February 2020. He passed away on June 10, 2020 while undergoing chemo treatment with Dr. Jacob. While she may have made a good decision on the chemo drugs to treat his illness, it was very difficult to get anyone to answer phone messages we left as he became sicker and sicker. He was in the hospital twice before he passed away and not once did anyone from her office return our calls or call to ask how he was doing. Had we known he was dying, we would have appreciated advice on getting him palliative care or discuss other options. He suffered needlessly his last few weeks, and it is unacceptable for an oncologist to ignore the signs when he was getting sicker and weaker every day. We are very disappointed in the way we were treated and we still have not gotten a phone call or card offering condolences to the family. If we had to do it over again, we would have picked a different oncology group. The outcome may have been the same, but perhaps we would have gotten more direction on how to make my husband comfortable in his last few weeks. This practice showed little compassion for the suffering he went through.
Terrible bedside manner. Does not like to answer questions, review tests in any type of detail other than 2-3 words, doesn’t look at you when she talks and always seemed annoyed. I did not feel like I could trust her or she had my best interests at heart. Always walked out feeling depressed.
The practice is ell-run.Dr. Jacob is very thorough,. She explains things clearly, and listens.
DO NOT recommend at all...no bedside manner, patronizing when I asked a simple question such as what stage my cancer is.... totally unhelpful...

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
