Excellent surgery result with Dr. Laud. Operated on me the day he first saw me within 2 hours. Dr. Laud saved my vision. Great doctor with great attitude and skill.

My husband had Retina detachment when he was younger and needed a touch up. We came to OCLI because of the reviews. All I can say is why do you have to wait 2 hours for a procedure that takes 5 minutes???

Agree with the reviewer who described OCLI as "another cattle processing place."  And as for Dr. Laud, my impression was that he viewed me somewhere between a lab rat and another annoying customer.  I've seen him a few times. I wasn't impressed on the first visit but thought I would try again over the course of a year because I felt anyone can have a bad day. But no.    When you have problems with your vision, like I do, and you have to see a retinal specialist, you want to be asked how you're seeing and if there have been changes.  You want to hear what he is observing.  Instead, he dictates to his assistant in medical lingo and you kind of have to remind him to translate to you.   Won't be going back.

Dr laud was good. Performed a second unnecessary surgery. Office keeps you coming back and then begins unexplained charges for post op visits after 90 days without letting patients know post op is no longer covered after 90 days and you will begin being charged separately. We are covered by 4 insurances-figured they had a cash cow! Clearly discontent is with office practices not so much with dr laud but I feel there are enough choices out there to find a good combination of both. We surely wouldn’t return!

Dr. Laud saved my life! He performed surgery on my detached retina immediately and restored my vision to normal. He is a highly competent, skilled, caring and compassionate doctor. I have recommended him to friends with the utmost confidence.

Very much rushing. Makes you feel like you are waste of time for him. so not caring.

Dr was quick and fast but wasn't very clear on explaining my condition. felt rushed thru and left hanging with questions unanswered after diagnosis after been shuttle out of the room.

Was sent here by this doctor's colleague at Manhasset OCLI after she was not sure of her own diagnosis so for that I am grateful to her (somewhat). This place is packed at 8am on a Saturday. I was shuttled thru quite seamlessly from one area (getting info on my issues) to another (get eyedrops to dilate and numb my eyes) before getting into the "exam chair"Dr Laud's assistant Skip came to check how dilated my eyes were (IT was less then 8 minutes at that point) apparently eyes weren't dilating fast enough so I got more drops to speed the process up. And walla. In less then 3 minutes they were numbed and dilated and ready for prodding. Was prompted with same questions and again questioned on my description. Why is It hard to understand: "I saw a ribbon of black, then wall of grey speckles? "???Dr Laud enters and tho I didn't see him wash or sanitize his hands because I assume he is a professional-- I assume he did. But in retrospect-- did he?  (In such a hurried atmosphere- one wonders)He looked into my eyes quite deeply and aggressively while mouthing off words to Skip: "pvd. Lattice".  And other scary incomprehensible words. At conclusion. I was given instructions of what to avoid & meds not to take with no explanations. When I brought up the computer avoidance thing. I said I work with Computers and he said: "Oh well, I can't help you there."  Well. How about a note for my work place or explaining why that would be "bad" for my eyes? I wasn't cleared on exactly what my condition is. Except to hear "it's age related, there's blood and let's wait and see how your eye is in two weeks" and with that, the doctor leaves room leaving Skip behind. Because I had so many questions I didn't get to ask. I found myself going back to look for Skip or dr Laud after I left the room to try to ask them. And only could shout out one question to Skip as I spotted him running between rooms amongst many that I got a shout back answer that I'm not sure was answered with thought nor privacy. So I got more answers then the other OCLI visit but not really in a satisfied way. I heard enough words to prompt my own internet investigation even though I was told NOT to use the computer. I needed to understand if what I am told is NOT an immediate danger and only then did I feel like I have some understanding of it in a vague, non medical explanation. Meantime. Sitting here with fear on eyes till next appt. This place: OCLI (ophthalmic consultant of Long Island) is another cattle processing place. It's a tad better then the one in Manhasset but still felt rushed out. Doctor:Though you probably explain stuff all day long and maybe gave my explanation to another patient many times over. Treat me as "new" and as a dumb dumb who really don't "know" and slow to learn Because patients see you to get unhurried, layman's answers for their (to them) seemingly "dire" conditions. Believe me it's dire when you see black ribbons with no symptoms on the front of the  eye. Please take the time to explain and allow for questions. Why are you in such a hurry to leave the room?

I have two words to describe Dr Laud. "Eye God".I consider him to be the very best in his field!!. He has worked miracles with my eyes.I have had many surgeries with Dr Laud and he has even went in and corrected other doctors mistakes. He corrected my eyesight even when there wasn't much hope. I feel safe in saying if you are fortunate enough to have Dr Laud as your Dr. Just trust that if it can be done "HE WILL DO IT !". YOU CAN TRUST HIM!.Let him do his job. You are in great hands. HE IS REALLY THE BEST!!
