If there were an option for a 0 star review this butcher would get it. Nearly killed me, sent me home despite the behest of the recovery nurses. Ended up going home and requiring a medical helicopter evacuation from CPH to BTV. Several months of extra surgeries and a transfusion at BTV and I am alive but not free from the pain and trauma he caused. Couldn’t fill my script because he didn’t have a valid DEA number. Had a hard time filing a complaint with the OPMMC because he wasn’t not a registered surgeon with privileges at the time in NY. Inept, negligent, poor bedside manner, an ego the size of St Lawrence county but definitely not the skills to back it up. I’m shocked and dismayed that he’s still practicing medicine. Worst hiring decision Claxton ever made was to put this butcher on staff. Note to everyone searching for a surgeon - people who died or are still having issues with recovering don’t leave google reviews so be sure to do more thorough research.
Would not recommend him to anyone!
Dr. Zuker explains everything very well, spends ample time with you and makes you feel important. Great surgeon!
Felt totally deceived by Dr Zuker. Visit began casual, laid back almost. Was told no need for surgery for a few gall stones in gallbladder. Then just as visit was ending and I was putting my coat on, he said he'd like to do a quick exam. Literally 5 seconds after touching my abdomin, he loudly and firmly said "That needs to come out!" He was referring to my gallbladder. That was it! Gave me instruction on setting up for surgery. I went home very upset and confused. Explained visit to husband that evening. He was immediately put off by Dr Zuker's behavior. Said he felt he scammed me, by gaining my trust first, then at last second, quick exam and all of a sudden... I need surgery! My husband reminded me..... He's a surgeon. It's how he makes a living. It's like asking a roofing company representative come to your home to recommend whether you need a new roof or not. He starts off gaining your trust, saying your roof looks fine and you probably have several years left....then just before he leaves, says "well I may as well take a quick look since I'm here".... "Wow, this is much worse that I thought! You need a new roof!!" Needless to say, I went for second opinion. Was told many people have gall stones. Unless those stones are creating a problem, such as pain from blockage, there's really no need for surgery, unless patient chooses to have removed as precaution. The information this Doctor provided, made sense to me. I left visit with a much better picture of my choices, as well as other alternatives to surgery. That's what I expected with Dr Zuker. Instead, I left office confused and emotional at the thought of surgery, with no other alternatives.
Very knowledgeable and experienced. Is very compassionate and speaks intelligently. Would recommend to anyone.
He did a great job on my hernia repair. I heard a lot of rumors about him pertaining to his personality and performance. As far as personality he told me exactly what to expect didn't beat around the bush and performance wise it's been four days since the procedure and I feel fine.
Dr. Zuker is an excellent surgeon. I have been to him three times, having surgery each time. He is so gentle, compassionate and his bedside manner is beyond belief. I might add that I have no visible scaring either.....Excellent choice!
this individual has no warmth or personality-treats people like objects - handshake like a dead fish- talks AT you- not to you...also talks over you when any questions are posed.....have discussed this individual with other Hepburn personell and all are of the same opinion....his persona alone is cause for doubt and his skill sets are more robotic in nature than intuitive....certainly does not think outside the box at all..... not an asset to his profession or Hepburn..enough said.
Dr Zuker seems very knowledgeable and capable. The Dr. has a very good bedside manner and is easy to talk to. As with all Doctors as busy as he is he spends limited time with his patients.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
