Dr. Costello is very knowledgeable about all aspects of eye care, and was willing to patiently answer any and all questions I had. His staff is very kind, reassuring (I was nervous), and proficient. The facilities were very clean and well-run. My follow-up appointments were very thorough. I highly recommend this doctor for any eye surgery you might need.

Dr. Costello did the cataract surgery for both my eyes this summer. I was super-nervous about the procedure, but the staff was kind and reassuring, and the doctor had a very professional manner and was very skilled. I am happy with the results: I got my first pair of glasses when I was 8 years old, and now after 50 years of wearing very thick lenses, I don't even need to wear glasses at all most of the time---I just need a pair for reading, but they are easily found at the dollar store. I am so excited to not need glasses to drive! I certainly recommend Dr. John J. Costello, Jr. for any eye surgery you need.

I had lasik corrective eye surgery. Dr Costello was very professional, providing me all the information I needed before the surgery, what to do to prepare for the surgery, what to expect during, and after the surgery. His staff were friendly and professional. I highly recommend this team for corrective eye surgery.

If I could give a negative review I would. I have been attending this office since I was 7 I am 32 now never been another office before. My father went to this office. My grandparents. It was great until dr Costello retired. It has gone down hill. Watch the front desk. Know what your insurance covers and make sure you listen to all prices. They lie and are sneaky about how they go about things. It's sad how they treat people

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE W DR JOHN COSTELLO MADE ME ALMOST BLIND UP CLOSE WITH CORRECTIVE SURGERY FOR FAR AWAY VISION THAT DIDNT LAST EITHER SURGERY CENTER A NIGHTMARE PRISONERS WAITING FOR PROCEDURES HE OWNS SURGERY CENTER ALSO PLEASE GET A SECOND OPINION HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE 4400.00 PLUS HUGE COPAYS TERRIBLE RESULTS

Dr. John J. Costello Jr. - I had both eyes operated on for cataract removal and they are both now 20/20. After 50 years of wearing prescription glasses I can now wear over the counter glasses from the pharmacy just for reading. My vision is now amazing. Dr. Costello has a God given gift not only with his eye care & surgeries but also with his care for his patients. I had to have my cataracts removed under anesthesia because of a severely deteriorated spine & Dr. Costello took great care in making sure I was positioned correctly so that my spine didn't crack or break as it was just as important to him as it was to me. My surgeries were perfect because of the excellent care I received from Dr. John J. Costello Jr., the anesthesiologist, and Dr. Costello's caring and very professional staff both at the surgery center & his office. 255 Avery Lane, Rome, New York 13441.
