I been here a few times and to be honest one star is being generous. This place is horrible. Now I don't wanna get into why I was here because the point I'm about to make is the real reason I'm written this. First off this place smells it's dirty and they definitely do not wipe down the beds like they are suppose to., especially this day in age with the covid. I watched one nurse just throw a clean sheet on bed after the person who was in it left. That is disgusting.. As I'm sitting there waiting to see a Dr. The nurses I heard cursing at the desk that is so unprofessional. The ppl here don't look happy working. They are just nasty. I rather go to storybook.
This use to be Brookhaven Hospital. I was born here back in 97.
Had an emergency and was taking care of immediately. They have a well trained staff are quick clean and efficient. $$
I went there for leg cramps because I wanted to rule out a clot. (I didn't have one). They charged my insurance company $2590 for an ER visit, which consisted of me waiting in the waiting room (not the ER), taking my blood pressure (at the reception desk just inside the front door), and a doctor spending a grand total of 20 seconds with me. I was never even in the ER, had no meds administered to me, no IV, etc., and they want $2590 from the insurance company for blood pressure, 20 seconds with an aloof doctor, and a blood pressure reading. That's criminal to charge that much. I got a doppler US done (those people were nice and did a decent job) but that was billed for at $1740, and that's not the issue. The issue is charging the insurance company $2590 for an ER visit which was all of 30 seconds of effort, and I was never even in the ER (nor did I receive what you would expect for ER treatment). I'm reporting them to my insurance company. No more LICH (Leech!) for me. I'm going to SBUH or Mather next time.
Went to the ER and the room was filthy. Blood drops on the floor, used mask, and a bloody cotton ball.
Was sent here from Winthrop hospital Emergency Departpent by another ED. They wouldn’t allow my wife in, which I understand, by the ED Tech. The problem was he was extremely rude on his delivery of his message. The PA comes in to assess me and cuts me off as I’m answering his question. Registration comes in and doesn’t even introduce herself. I had no choice to come here. First and last time.
Terrible staff. Came in a while back with severe chest pains. Could barely walk, sitting upright caused even more pain. If I wasn't being ignored or given dirty looks by staff, I was threatened with being thrown out for causing a scene. Granted, this was early AM, so I was in my PJs & had terrible bedhead; don't know if that gave them a reason for the treatment. Finally after more than an hour of thinking I'm going to die in a waiting room, staff comes out entirely different demeanor, & rushes me to the ER. Turns out I was having problems with a minor heart valve. I really wonder if I had the time to make myself more presentable, would the service be different? Or is that just normal?
Better off going to a military field hospital. Horrible attitude from unfriendly staff, had to follow up with a different person for over 12 hrs just to get prescriptions that THEY prescribed from an ER visit to get sent to the pharmacy. Complete run around from an incompetent staff.
This is the worst hospital you could possibly go to. The staff has no desire to help and care for any patients. They had me there all day suffering and the doctor never came in to check on me or even tell me what was wrong with me, I left at 4 am still in a lot of pain. This is the dirtiest hospital and so uncomfortable. The attitudes on the staff is embarrassing. I don’t even know how this place is still up and running. It should just burn down.
I was really trying to be positive as I was feeling pretty vulnerable as I am a diabetic with a heart condition and was just diagnosed with Covid. My body hurt in ways I didn’t think were possible. I first contacted my primary who did a video visit, then was advised to go directly to a clinic or ER to get tested. I went to a clinic and was diagnosed with Covid and sent straight to an ER for the infusion due to my medical history and how sick I was. After be swept into a room where I felt like I was in some awful giant closet (shower filled with junk and not very sanitary looking)with 3 big recliner chairs that I couldn’t close and no one to assist (no one came inside or offered to help) mind you I had fever, terrible joint pains and migraines that were on steroids. I also stated I needed a restroom and the admitting nurse said I would be in a room soon. Then me and another girl were moved to room 3. I again asked to use the restroom and was first told no and I then stated either that or I need a pail. They let me go without a n95 mask. I was given a bed with a broken lock and was told to be careful when getting out of it or moving. Both the other girl and I asked for an extra blanket because we were freezing, promised by three different staff members and never brought in the over 6 hr stay. They offered me a drink and never brought it. My migraines were at at least a 8-10 and told I would get a Tylenol along with my nausea medication and when brought the nausea medication never brought my Tylenol (said they didn’t request it) so my head was in so much pain and when our treatments were completed the alarms were going for a half hour and we couldn’t bear it so we shut them ourselves. Another 1/2 hour passed before she came back and then caught an attitude wanting to know who shut them off. We both said we did and I added it kept going off and the nurse said it’s only an alarm.. normally yes. When you aren’t suffering from migraines (without Tylenol I might add) they took my ID bracelet off when trying to find a vein and never put one back on. When nurses came in and realized they just said.. you are Deborah Hensley. Well yeah but as much as they know I could be anyone. They had another Covid patient standing in the hallway because they put someone else in his assigned room. Also kept us for at least 1 1\2 hrs after for observation which was fine but not once did they so much as poke there heads in the window. We joked that’s probably why there are two of us to observe each other and if one of us passes out we could go get help. Was bi far the worst hospital experience I’ve ever had.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
