List of Debra Strauss Md's Reviews
I was diagnosed with Something and referred to Dr. Strauss. After two shots of antibiotics, she said I was cured and did not need to return to her office. Let me just say, Dr. Strauss's overall demeanor was careless and hasty- a bit negligent if you ask me- during every visit. A year and a half later, the Something I was diagnosed with is still very much alive and ACTIVE- like I understand that it will never go away completely, but it becomes inactive when one is "cured". Well, my Something is very much active, and I only found out by accident when a doctor I went to decided to run a complete set of blood tests. I totally understand that we're all human and people make mistakes, even doctors, but here's the thing- I have been trying to get in touch with Dr. Strauss for the past 3 weeks. Every single time I call I get the same answer- "Someone will call you back" some rep says in a bored voice, and then guess what?- No one calls me back! No missed calls from their office or voicemails either, it's like they don't want to deal with this. If that's the case, let me know so I can find a different infectious disease doctor and stop wasting my own time calling your office over and over again! The only reason I even went to Dr. Strauss in the first place (after getting the distinct impression that she didn't give two sh*ts about me or my diagnosis) is because she's the doctor I was referred to, and I simply don't know of any other Infectious Disease doctors that take my insurance.
I have had Dr Strauss visit me on several occasions in the hospital and once in her office. Dr. Strauss made a very fine impression on me. She is extremely knowledgeable in her field of internal medicine and infectious diseases. In the hospital she was very helpful in changing my medications to the correct ones which greatly improved my condition. In her office she was very informative about how to prevent a recurrence of cDiff and gave me invaluable advice about the use of antibiotics in the future. She is kind and caring. I rate her 5 stars without hesitation. An excellent physician! Sincerely, Harvey Salem

Worst doctor. Run for your life.
Years and years ago I became very ill. I was thought to have Lyme disease but the blood tests were not 100% so the doctors I saw started me on doxycycline, I was on that for 8 months and lost my job. 1 doctor says she was trying to get me IV but ins wouldn't cover. My cousin recommend I go out of state& I met with Dr Strauss ... That night she called me and got me 8 weeks IV.... She saved me!! I would and have recommended her A+++
This doctor was clueless and unhelpful. She had no clue about anything. I found it very unprofessional for a doctor to not have a chart or a clue as to why a patient was being seen by them. To spend $50 to sit for an hour and be told nothing is a disgrace. This doctor also continue to give my mother attitude for asking a question after the fact. Dr Strauss is affiliated with Bon Secour yet she had no information in regards to my case through the Bon Secour. Diagnose me.com would be more useful
I accompanied a co-worker to his first visit with Dr. Strauss after his Primary Doctor found abnormalities in his lab results. For the past 6 months my co-worker has been declining cognitively and for the past week, literally non functional. For starters, Dr. Strauss was unfriendly and became almost insulting as the consult continued. She clearly stated she was not going to admit him to a hospital nor was she going to order any tests. She recommended he see a Neurologist (which would have been a logical recommendation had my friend not been so severely impaired at this point). After leaving her office I drove him to a hospital in N.J. where he is currently admitted and on IV antibiotics.
I received a referral to her. I called the office 3 times on different days and left voicemails. She never called back. However when my husband became so ill and was hospitalized with endocarditis she was at the hospital daily. When I told her my experience she said - oh that's my secretary Kim- she's lazy!!! So- make your own wise decision!!!!
On more then one occasion this doctor was very rude and made snide comments when asked about a question

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
