Paul Schulman's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Paul Schulman is a caring doctor dedicated to his patients. I have been his patient for over 25 years. Dr. Schulman is the most professional and kind doctor I have met. Dr. Schulman listens and has never rushed my visits. All symptoms and concerns become his as he partners with his patient toward wellness. When approval is needed for a treatment Dr. Schulman and his staff make sure it happens. A more professional, dedicated doctor cannot be found. In his care I am confident. Dr. Schulman will find answers. For Dr. Schulman you are family and his efforts are unrelenting. My only regret is that Dr. Schulman, a rheumatologist cannot be my general practitioner. Courteous, caring, professional, a partner in health is the definition of this exceptional doctor. I feel privileged to be a patient of this extraordinary physician. Dr. Schulman is the model from which all doctors can be judged. Thank you for allowing me to be your patient.

I had a virtual appointment as a new patient this week. I went into it thinking it would not be very thorough. However, Dr. Schulman took so much time to listen to me and ask me questions about my condition, honestly more than any doctor ever has before. I felt like someone was actually listening and interested in helping me treat my pain for the first time. I have an in-person follow up, labs and x-rays scheduled in his office, and I look forward to building a relationship with this very kind and experienced rheumatologist. If you’re reading reviews to decide whether or not to make an appointment here, you should definitely give it a try. I’m very particular about who I see and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed :)

I have seen Dr. Schulman for years now. He is a very intelligent man and listens carefully to what I need to say. I never feel rushed while in his office. I always leave an appointment feeling sure that Dr. Schulman has handled my health issue perfectly. They have their own lab there, which is a plus.

Horrific. I went there for a 1st time appt. and was treated with the worst disrespect I have ever seen from med office personnel. If I could leave minus stars I would. I handed in all my paperwork & a copy of blood tests I received from another rheumatologist as I wanted to discuss them with the dr. I did not want to discuss the results as they were taken several yrs ago. When the office person saw the list of tests she asked for the results. When I told her I did not have them, but the past dr. would, she rolled her eyes and shook her head as though I was a "duhhh" crazy person. She was incredulous & so disrespectful, I took my paperwork back & left without seeing the dr. She never apologized & could care less that her dr. lost a new patient. If this is the way they treat patients in the front office, what kind of treatment would I expect from other personnel there? Especially, if the dr. condones that kind of behavior. I'll be sure to let my primary & anyone else know NOT RECOMMENDED

I had been recently diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis from a dermatologist. About a month later I felt my entire body begin to feel the effects of psoriatic arthritis. Called Port Jeff Rheumatology to make an appointment because I read good things about Dr. Schulman.. but no one answered. Called again an hour later and no one answered. I left a message this time briefly explaining the situation and asked for a call back when they got a chance. 24 hours pass and no call back. I call again- this time someone finally picks up. She explains that they are not taking any new patients unless it's an emergency. My dermatologist writes me a referral stating the severity of my symptoms and the urgency to see a rheumatologist about it. I call the next day but no one picks up again. I leave another message asking for a call back when they get a chance. 24 hours pass.. guess what? No call back again! Call back.. no answer. Call back an hour later and someone picks up.. hallelujah! Only this time she informs me they are NOT seeing ANY patients.. emergency or not. Oh different information than last time. And you couldn't bother to call back a potential patient who left 2 polite as can be messages simply asking for a call back?

Dr. Schulman is truly a wonderful doctor with a great bedside manner. He's very approachable and really listens to you. His staff is a different story. They need some lessons in customer relations.

Took my 78 year old father to Dr. Schulman for gout in his foot. My father was in a lot of pain. Dr. Schulman spent a lot of time with him and gave him a thorough exam. His reassurance and patience was impressive. He assured him that he would be feeling better soon

I have been coming to this office for almost 20 years now, and I have seen Dr Schulman most of that time. There is sometimes a wait, but I know that is because of emergencies. He has a wonderful bedside manner and really listens to me when I speak. He also tries to be proactive with my rheumatoid disease. I highly recommend this office.

In the 5 times I've visited here, the staff has not had friendly customer service. And they are always talking too eachother too much. There is a dangerous step/hump in the front door, where people trip all the time

I was a new patient and as such had to wait 6 weeks for first visit. Dr Schulman spent less than 15 minutes, barely looked or listened to issues. Very little information imparted and clearly meeting his quota of patients by breezing in and out in record time. We are all suffering as these practices are sold off to the hospitals and we are just $ signs to doctors.
