Dr. Charles Afful is my son’s psychiatrist from his stay at Bon Secour Hospital recently. Dr. Afful, from recent events, does not communicate well to patients and their family members. Dr. Afful was repeatedly asked to get in touch with us and has failed to do so. Dr. Afful discharged my son with a treatment plan and medications. One of the medications prescribed is very expensive (+/- $780.00/14days) and was not immediately covered by our insurance. This medication required a physicians approval to be supplied to the insurance company. This took two days and was done through a fax from the nurses station in the treatment unit at the hospital, even though it could have been phoned in to the insurance company in just a few minutes time. We would not recommend this doctor as his performance is less than professional. Zero stars. Look elsewhere.
