Never again with this place 10 hours for a kidney stone and UTI… ny Presbyterian is better.. took urine and. Blood and returned again cause they couldn’t read.. insurance milk job…

1 star for the courteous attitude shown by the staff, they were very apologetic at the mediocre service they provide.I arrived at the ED at approximately 1:15am and informed the triage nurse that my daughter was having chest pain and has a known cardiac history (the cardiologist is within the same facility, that’s why I brought her in to Cohen’s ED). Vitals were done and we were told to sit down and wait to be called again , after 1.5 hours we have not been called. I get up to inform the triage nurse they now my daughter was having shortness in d breath. She repeats vitals and tell me she would add the new complaint , I was told to have a seat again .2.5 hours later from my initial ED arrival we are finally called to the back and within 1/2 hour an EKG was done and found to be abnormal ( I did state at triage that my daughter has a known cardiac history , but I guess I was not taken serious ). 3 hours in and still have not seen an actual doctor.Then I hear over the loud speaker the staff paging for cardiology to ER(I guess they were unsure on how to manage the situation). A resident comes in to tell me they will order labs to make sure it’s not a heart attack (approximately 4:30 am labs were being drawn). Now I have mentally prepared myself that I’ll be there another 2 hours since we had to wait for the lab results.No one ever returned until the following change of shift , a different nurse to tell me labs were still pending . No doctors were available due to a trauma code they had , now I’m about 4 hours in since the labs were drawn with no results or doctor. By then I was extremely frustrated , mentally and physically drained. I asked the nurse to please let me sign out against medical advised , I’ll go home and follow up with the cardiologist. No one would allow me to leave, it’s like I was being held hostage.Yet, I was not getting any service either .The whole time my daughter was hooked on to the cardiac monitor the alarms were going off when her pulse and respiration dropped, no one was coming to check. I’ll have to ring the call bell for the nurse to come and turn off the alarm (I doubt none of it was documented).Overall experience if I had to rate the service 0. The best advise I can give is DO NOT go there . It is a teaching hospital the residents don’t seem to know what they are doing , if any emergency is happening everyone would run to go see what’s happening since it’s a teaching hospital and you would be forgotten until the residents come back from their field experience. Perhaps, in the past they were good. Now it is just a known name “Northwell” that gravitates people to go there , but there are many other hospitals in Long Island don’t let the name fool you into going there .

The best children hospital I’ve ever been. I had to bring my kids here a few times and it was like no other hospital the doctors don’t stop they do everything they can to make sure your child goes home in well health! The doctors and the nurses and all of the other staff need a raise the way the answers the phone and get you help I’m really proud of every member in the hospital that makes it Possible.THANK YOU DR.TANG for taking your time out your day to be a great doctor and helping me with my child

Excellent, attentive, superior medical care. My son was i the hospital for a week and received excellent care, medical, nursing , staff all top-notch!

some of the nurses are okay, idk about the male nurses though i’ve heard that they can act really sketchy and touchy and i wouldn’t think parents would want their children to have that so this place should teach about personal space.

Broght my daughter by ambulance to Cohen's because she had an allergic reaction to the COVID vaccine. They kept her for hours and didn't do anything for her, not even Tylenol or water while she shook and shivered. We were charged and billed thousands for no service. They incorrectly billed as a generic allergic reaction and STILL refuse to correct the billing codes to COVID even though all documentation indicated she had a reaction to the vaccine. Why should the hospital get away with this?
