List of Elizabeth Fung's Reviews
Dr. Fung is professional, patient and friendly. She really listens and takes the time to offer great advice as to how to take care of whatever the issues are. I am very comfortable knowing I am in good hands with Dr. Fung!!
Do not choose this doctor as your primary doctor. I am pregnant and supposed to have both my OB and Dr. Fung as my primary doctors during the pregnancy. I had the sore throat and possible ear infection for a few days. My OB suggested me to call Dr. Fung to discuss since it could be respiratory tract infection.I called her office last Friday morning and left message to the front desk, I was told that she was seeing her 9:20am patient, but I would hear from her soon since they made a urgent request to her. However, I have not received any calls or messages from her at all which is not surprising, as I had to chase her down for my annual physical test result every time. Meanwhile, my OB Dr. Lazar and her nursing team from North shore university hospital kept calling me to check on me. What a difference! I’m leaving Dr. Fung and will not recommend her to anyone.
Horrible! It's a shame. I was very Excited about getting a new Doctor. This Women showed ZERO percent of any Compassion or Care. I wouldn't Trust this Hospital Network anymore. I asked my Insurance Company to change.
Zero Compassion, Zero Bedside Manner. I tried to be very Nice. It's was my first Visit. I have cCgronic issues. I didn't want to be overwhelming. She made me feel Embarrassed and now I'm Sketchy to see any new do tors if this is how your going to be treated. I've never. Ever in my life left a drs office feeling Humiliated and Had my Personal Issues Treated with ZERO understanding. I do believe she wants to tap and turn..$$$$$___she has ZERO PATIENT SKILLS
I got rid of my old PCP because he took 2 hours to see patients (Astoria Medical Care - avoid!). Dr. Fung is a decent PCP, she was patient and let me ask as many questions as needed. She was professional and didn't push any unnecessary medication on me, unlike other doctors I've seen. Other doctors, thanks to Big Pharma, always seem to want to give me more meds. I told her I didn't want to take antibiotics if there were other options so she prescribed to me an over the counter medication and if my condition didn't get better, to take the antibiotic. The only critique I have is that the place is very busy and other techs do the blood pressure monitoring, general check up stuff, etc., before you get to see the doc. But that's standard practice nowadays.
I tried using this "doctor" as a PCP. If you are over 50 years, or have more than one health issue, DON'T expect to see one doctor. This is a money making scam. I asked her to change my insulin. She replied that she's not an "expert". At over $500 per visit, you can go bankrupt. I saw a pulmonary doctor at her request. He was at a different location and was pushing his sleep disorder lab! I found out I had osteoporosis and she sent me to an Endocrinologist. Nothing was done there about my insulin or bones. She is a front for Mount Sinai to make money. Unless you have government supplemented insurance, which I don't, DO NOT go here. She even insulted me by saying she's not in social services. Very unprofessional. When I asked her about the cost and the referrals, she got very angry and basically left the room, insulted that I would question her and never told about lab tests I should have or medications like insulin I needed refilled. Two days later I saw the requisition for the labs. Now I don't drive and I have to take 2 buses to get over there. It's just not worth my time, effort and money to not be satisfied with medical care.
My allergy appointment was changed by the doctor to a followup appointment instead. Don't ever let them do this because now my bill is much higher than if I went to her as an allergist. I'm being charged for asking questions about my allergies, after I told her I had an appointment with her as an allergist on a later date, at my annual wellness visit. I filled out forms that were never looked at and was asked the very same questions that were on the forms. This is where both the nurse and the doctor asked about my allergies. I was billed by both the Lab and Mount Sinai. She's my PCP! Felt very rushed by her and no surprise I'm being billed for every second of it. I actually spent more time with the nurse than Dr. Fung. At the follow-up I had to ask her to explain my result. No idea why I was requested to go back to the office for a follow-up when she didn't want to explain anything to me. It was a complete waste of time.
Communication was extremely lacking. Doctor was frustrated with my questions for some reason and I felt she was raising her voice and becoming hostile. I confronted her and expected her to acknowledge this and help better answer my questions but it continued to break down. Dr Fung kept referring to me looking at my chart. Why did I come in for her to tell me to read my own chart and not properly answer my questions and concerns? She asked me to come in. I will not go back there and will tell others not to go there as well.

Bad experience. Bad doctor. She needs a new career

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
