Madison York Assisted Living's Online Review Report Card

My father has been here over Two years and I can honestly say I have never had anyone there curse at me once, nor I have ever heard them curse at the facility. And I am there every weekend to take dad out to a movie. His condition prior to taking him was not the greatest. I spoke to Theresa who had told me we will add years to his life. And after Two years I can say she was absolutely right. He has since gained back all the weight ahe had lost and looks great. They keep them moving and on a routine that works. I have looked at many in the past as my mother had to be placed into assisted living. I wish I had seen this place back then. The Director Gregg is fantastic at getting back to you and answering all and any questions you may have. And lastly thank you to Margret and Bianca for all the little behind the scene things you do for dad. Again I did my research and homework prior to and can safely say I made the right choice.also would like to give many thanks to Barbara C for all her help and guidance.

I want to express how appreciative I am of the Madison York staff, and to highly recommend them to anyone seeking an assisted living community. Their level of professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency exceeded expectations. When I recently visited three weeks ago with an elderly family friend who needed a new residence, we were hopeful but doubtful. Given the urgency of her situation, that if she liked Madison York over other facilities which we had visited, we did not know if she could then move in as soon as possible. Owing to Madison York’s responsiveness and expertise, they were able to expedite my friend’s admissions in a little less than two and a half weeks. In the meantime it took, we toured Madison York, interviewed with their staff, and finally unpacked and moved in. We discovered an overall quality experience. They are centrally located off the Grand Central Parkway and Long Island Expressway and offer useful parking. The building’s modern design itself blends into a cozy atmosphere, while the elegant bedrooms and common areas (dining room, library, and TV rooms) are well maintained. Food service is great also as they give ample food that’s fresh and wholesome. However, beyond all this, what stands out are the positive experiences with the highly effective Director of Community Relations, who made it at all possible; with the thoroughness and compassion of the Nursing Staff; and, even the friendliness of the other residents which altogether was welcoming of us. In conclusion, our impression of Madison York is that of a diverse and well-cared for community served by unmistakably dedicated and competent professionals.

As an ex employee for many years i was very happy to serve and be apart of this facility! The level of understanding that goes into working at this place and care is above and beyond ! Residents are happy ! And thats what matters most, ! I watched administration put their own lives on line during pandemic!

Dk yet it's hard place to get into it's like trying to be approved by a co-OP board this process of intake is stressful and I'm starting to have my reservations although the people are very nice I'm being told my wheelchair is a problem by my people whom are dealing with them I had hope until then I guess I gotta go thru CIDNY to get an apt where they dont discriminate against wheelchair users

Just want to say during these difficult times This facility has always been there keeping family members up to date with current events and caring for our loved ones . Thank you guys for all you do be safe and happy holidays .

My aunt has been here for quite some time, I want to thank the staff for being so courteous and nice every time I come to visit. The building is clean and looks great compared to the last facility she was in. Keep up the good work and thanks for always smiling everytime I came to visit

My relative was living there until he was hit hard with an illness and needed to go to a LTC facility. While no place is perfect, Greg, the Administrator, was always kind and patient with my family member. He is a good person and he is the reason I felt I should write this review. Thank you Greg for your kindness and patience.

My mother has been in this facility for over 2 years with dementia. They have watched over her, treated her with kindness and taken care of all her needs. Anytime I have a question or problem concerning my mother thye took care of it.

I read the review on this place and I knew exactly who they were referring to. I must agree 100% with the last review. There is a receptionist by the name of Grace that is extremely unpleasant and curses like a sailor. My aunt stays at this location and the receptionist makes calling extremely undesirable. There has been a handful of occasions where she has cursed at me and at the people around her. My aunt has told me that Grace is on the phone most Mondays so I just avoid calling Mondays. It is concerning how someone who behaves in such a matter is working there and with the elderly. I never thought about calling the D.O.H but that is something I will be looking in to.
