List of Joel Solomon's Reviews
Outstanding care and perfect surgical skills. Explained all my lens options and the results are an indication of thoughtful calculations and expertise My buddy had his surgery same day with the same remarkable results A consummate perfectionist
Dr Solomon has been all my children’s doctor since 1992. He’s very kind and works with you taking the time you need.
This doc is WONDEFUL!! Had my first baby and being a new mother worried about EVERYTHING. He took the time to explain things in regular people terms. Something that can only come with experience . HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
I was referred to Dr. Solomon by my sister who is a nurse and also a patient of Dr. Solomon's. I found Dr. Solomon to be personable and thorough. He addressed all of my issues. He sat with me and patiently taught me eye exercises to help my problem. Overall, I found his office to be efficient. Additionally, i never felt rushed while in the exam room with Dr. Solomon. I would highly recommend Dr. Solomon to anyone, and will continue to see him for yearly eye exams.
My husband, who is a Urologist, (in case you feel that doctors have higher standards for each other), and I have been seeing Dr. Solomon for half a dozen years now. I was referred by my Pulmonologist because I have an advanced case of lung sarcoid and needed careful, expert monitoring by a very skillful, thoughtful, thorough doctor. She only refers me to the best, and that is exactly who Dr. Solomon is. Not only do i KNOW i have the best in care, Dr. Solomon is also the kind of physician who is patient in answering all my questions, of which I always have a lot, and sometimes I ask them over and over again. He is kind and concerned but calm (which I so appreciate, being a rather nervous person myself), gentle and wonderfully comforting. I once had what I was certain was an emergency, and called his office at that last minute without an appointment, and Dr. Solomon immediately told me to come in. he saw me at once and diagnosed my problem, calmed me down, and told me to call him anytime if I was nervous about the condition. His secretaries always remember me and I am never kept waiting. And Dr. Solomon makes me laugh, which I have to say, is pretty rare for me during any doctor visit; just another plus and another reason why my husband and I think Dr. Solomon is terrific. I absolutely owe my good eye health to the careful ministrations of Dr. Solomon. Don't cheat yourself out of great medical care over something as important as your eyes; see the best. For us, that is Dr. Solomon.
I saw Dr. Solomon today for the first time. He was referred to me by my primary care doctor, who is fantastic. In fact, he goes to Dr. Solomon himself. I have only been to 2 other eye doctors, one of which was ok, the other not great. I was SO happy with my experience today. Everything from the efficient booking system, to the nice people who work at the front desk to my eye exam was easy, thorough and efficient. So much so that I am writing a review. Dr. Solomon was busy today, but I never for a second felt rushed. He has a calm demeanor and I felt like he was really listening to me. He was precise when telling me what I needed and very clear answering my questions. I would fully recommend him! Best part- I didn't have to wait an hour like so many NYC doctor's offices!
Nice doctor who works well with his patients and is efficient as far as I can tell. On my visit, his office was empty besides me and another woman. So there was very little waiting. He was polite and answered any questions I had. His receptionist was nice too. But I thought it was a little odd that she had me self address a post card that they would send to me as a reminder for my yearly check up. I mean, it didn't take me more than 30 seconds but why couldn't they have done that? I'd never had to do that at any other office before. Interesting request...
Save your money and your insurance. This guy, his staff, and his office were totally depressing and really bad. Went there for a specific problem which he ignored and proceeded to do an eye exam, which I didn't want or need, just to bill me and my insurance company. Then he said he couldn't help me and referred me to a different doctor. This was a complete waste of my time and money. Please go somewhere else !!
Went to Dr. Solomon on the recommendation of two coworkers with positive experiences. Felt a little rushed on the phone with reception and at reception during my visits, but a little NYC curtness never really hurt anyone. Actual time with Dr. Solomon was short but he was nice, efficient and answered my questions clearly. I went to get contacts for the first time in many years, to wear during athletic activity. After a first check up, Dr. Solomon helped me through the contacts process, ordered trials for me (daily wear contacts, for astigmatism, I'm going through 2 options). I had another appointment once the trials were in. Then I was sent by him to go see a sweet lady named Carmelle who calmly showed me how to put these things in my eyes correctly. Then back to Dr. Solomon to see how my eyes were handling them. At that visit, Doc had another set of trials lenses on hand to try, which were a bit more comfy around the edges. Many steps to the contacts process, but overall experience was fine and now I'm on my way. I'll keep going to him for checkups.
very thorough. Only waited a few minutes to be seen.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
