Amazed by meeting such a nice doctor!!! Dr. Maizel is the nicest guy.

Great Dr one of the nicest guys I ever met

Doctor Barry Maizel (gastroenterologist at Doc Care) instructed one of his staff members to schedule my colonoscopy and endoscopy by announcing very loudly and publicly, “because she is very anemic!”. EVERYONE in the hall (about ten people) turned to see what this “very anemic patient” looks like. That didn’t feel great to say the least. Isn’t being discreet an obvious rule all doctors should follow and respect? The colonoscopy day: It was my first colonoscopy, I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and was preparing myself religiously for it by very strictly following the directions I had received from the doctor. After the colonoscopy, I was told to wait for the doctor. Doctor Barry Maizel began to yell at me, accusing of not preparing myself and following directions. I was completely shocked, I’ve never been yelled at by a doctor before. He didn’t want to hear me explain that I did exactly what I was asked to, and had paid very close attention to the instructions I’ve received. He accused me of lying, still raising his voice and being shockingly rude. After he left, a much more empathetic receptionist apologized for him. I was treated like a child who deserves to be punished! I could not believe what I had just gone through- I have never had such a horrible doctor experience. Doctor Barry Maizel is beyond rude and unprofessional. I cancelled my endoscopy which was scheduled with him for the next week immediately. Stay away from dr Maizel unless you’re prepared to be yelled at and disrespected.

*STAY AWAY* Does procedures on you when you don't need one in order to make a quick buck. Pressed on my solar plexus and says I need to be checked out because my reaction was "too strong". That's when I knew he was lying and never followed thru with him because he's a scammer. He would have put me to sleep and stuck a tube inside me and find nothing and then say, "You're good." I wonder how many innocent people fall for it.

I just saw a gastroenterologist in Chiang Mai. I wonder if Dr. Maizel could be persuaded to make house calls in Asia.

Doctor Maizel has kept me healthy for more than twenty years.He is wonderfully sensitive, highly skilled, knowledgeable, approachable, and spends the time necessary to explain conditions, treatments, medication, etc.He is a paragon of what the medical profession should provide in the way of skilled and humane medical services.

His office staff was extremely courteous, but during the visit, the doctor snapped at me. Perhaps I caught him on a bad day, but I thought he was quite rude.
