Impersonal, not very communicative

The hospital assigned Dr. Ahmed to me as the one who performed an angiogram on me recently. I had never met him before. He did not introduce himself to me before the procedure. He did an adequate job, but I would not recommend him. His bedside manner was terse and abrupt. He did not order a sedative for the procedure, though I’d been assured I would have one. He initially dismissed my complaints about pain and seemed annoyed that I was reporting pain. His insertion of the catheter was rough and clumsy. I have talked to a number of people (including my husband) who have had this procedure, and they all described it as easy and practically painless. That was not my experience with Dr. Ahmed. He got the job done, but it was not pleasant.
