Refusal to treat me because I saw Dr Philip 2 years ago at U of R- he refused to treat me as a new patient because I “belonged to Dr. Philip” so DO NOT waste your time if you’ve been to strongs pain clinic in your lifetime!!! Very unprofessional!!!
Hands down the worst dr I’ve ever had. He wouldn’t listen to me, would dismiss my suggestions for my care with no real reason, and would often suggest I was lying about the severity of my condition. He gave me a referral to a rheumatologist and after getting a new diagnosis from that dr he told me it was wrong and was not that bad. I would cry after every appointment because he made me feel so horrible simply because I was trying to get help for my pain and to him it was all imaginary. He was vary cold and had no bedside manner at all. I never got any help from him and only left with emotional trauma from the experience.
I ended up calling and reporting dr. Chaing for his horrible etiquette (the 1 and only time I have ever reported anyone in my life) because that's how disgusted I was after leaving his office. I waited an hour. He was so rude to me from the 1st second. I never once felt like he was listening to me. I felt completely dismissed. Fell down on the floor crying (in front of my 7 year old Dr chaing told me my son looked bored and we should go have a good day. Then stepped over me and left. A nurse had to comfort me. Then he couldnt even fill out my notes properly and filled in that I had no children in my visit notes/report. ???????
I have been seeing Dr Chaing for years now for my pain management for my lower spine full of arthritis! He is awesome!!! The steroid shots I get are not awesome but Dr Chaing delivers the steroids as comfortable as you can get! They work every time! Judy Henshaw
gave me a steroid shot in the wrong place!!!! he gave me a hip shot when i was suffering from sciatica (done at the upper part of gluutz)
I visited a surgeon who evaluated my MRI of a badly herniated disc and said I had two options, surgery or a nerve block. Decided to go with the latter to give it a try. Dr Chang accepted me that day and within an hour I was on the table. It was not a pleasant experience but I was in so much pain I was desperate. Numbness the next day was followed by the pain back worse than ever and I subsequently had the surgery two days later. So although the nerve block itself didn't "take", during my follow up visit Dr Chang explained why in great detail. He was patient with me and answered all of my questions thoroughly. I still have some weakness/numbness in my leg which he also explained. Just want to say Dr Chang has a cheerful attitude and was very patient with me. So overall a good experience!
He is a great doctor. For two years i have been suffering from John Coneglio ENT surgery. He has been supporting me all the way. He always willing to see me when i needed him. Im probably going to be seeing him for the rest of my life for treatment because of John Coniglio surgery. I highly recommend him. He is a great doctor. I hope to see a lot of him.
See my previous (1 star review below) and this is an update: I am not just quick to say when something goes wrong but also when it goes right. Everyone deserves a second chance so I went back in, against my better judgement, for other options bc of the amount of pain I have been in. This time was a total 360! I was off of the pain meds and using options like lidocaine patches, ibuprophene around the clock, heating pad and doing minimal of anything throughout the day.. When I went back in and was off of the pain meds I was looked at as a different person and all of a sudden had numerous options available. I was able to explore those options and went with a pain injection and then 4 days later nerve blocking. I can’t explain how much of my life I have back. I can now swing my 6 yr old around and also pick up my 3 yr old with special needs (he was so confused when he would say up and I would have to say ‘wait buddy, mommy will pick you up soon’.) The value of life is often underestimated until you don’t have it and wish you did. Dr. Chiang and his staff gave this back to me and I am forever thankful. I had to update. *for those of you dealing with chronic pain, there are options. I feel for you and wish each and every one of you the best life has to offer. Hang in there. Any questions please don’t hesitate to let me know. Thank you for your time! (1 star review below) Most horrible experience I have ever had and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. 😭I have gone through 5 abdominal surgeries in 3 years after giving birth to 2 large 9 lb babies. I went to see Dr. Chiang and he lectured me about the pain medication that my surgeon had me on?! He talked the whole time about addiction and the pain being in my head and referred me to mental health. What a cop out.. I have numerous scans and doctors proving my diastasis recti. I have not had a great experience with the staff at this office either, they do not want to give you any tome to explain yourself or answer a question they are asking, rushed through everything. It was a joke... I was in tears, couldn’t get a word out and was talked to like I was an addict. I would not recommend this staff to anyone EVER. I now have a pain specialist helping me that listens to understand me, and does not listen to interrupt or respond to me. He truly cares and is giving me numerous options and treating me like family. I REALLY HOPE SOMEONE SEES THIS THAT CAN CHANGE THE WAYS AT THIS OFFICE. MANY PEOPLE WILL SUFFER AND BECOME DEPRESSED OVER THE CONVERSATIONS HAD WITH THIS DR. He doesn’t care and will do anything to make sure you know all the knowledge in his head, in the 15 minutes you get in the office with him. He will not let you talk and will find a way to push you off. What a disappointment.
He is a very honest when it comes to treating Chronic pain and will tell you all of your opinions for you
Dr. Chaing has been my doctor for 8 years he is very kind and compassionate in the beginning we butted heads but through time I wouldn't want to go to anyone else I got my life back going to him before that never left my house was always in so.much pain but he changed that and when I call about something they get me right in

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
