Gary Markowitz's Online Review Report Card

I am very disappointed about the medical office ability to provide adequate services. I have never seen such a shitty job in any medical office! I made an app. for 3 yrs. old baby (refugee from Ukraine). I got call from office day before to reschedule, only one pediatric ophthalmologist there. In time of the app., a translator was not settled, we had to wait for the for several more weeks. Last week I got 2 appointment reminders the business, both for the baby, for different times and doctors. Then the baby got very sick, and I asked to reschedule the appointment. It was said that by their office policy, the next scheduled appointment cannot be reschedule! The secretary point time. I recall to the office after 5 min (I had to check with baby's mom), to ask for time on Fri, but they refused to do that, because of their office policy! It is despicable! I ask to speak with an office manager, nobody calls me to make up for the nonsenses and apologize.

He’s the absolute best! My child’s vision has improved drastically under Dr. Markowitz’s excellent care!

The staff was very friendly and they were amazing with my 3 Year old daughter

My grandson has been being treated by Dr. Markowitz since he was 13 months old. He is infinitely patient with fidgety children and their concerned caregivers. He is knowledgeable and experienced, and we trust him implicitly with my grandson’s precious sight. The staff is friendly and efficient. Highly recommend this office for pediatric ophthalmology.

The nurses were amazing! Dr. Markowitz has no bedside manner. He was rude and impatient with my 2 year old son. He accused me of "bringing a sick kid to his office and lying to the health screener" because my son has a reflux cough (he's had it for over a year and takes Zantac for it! It's not a cold!!!) I tried to explain this to him and he rolled his eyes at me and told me to "get out of his office and that I was irresponsible for bringing in a sick kid ." He then stated "your son has an astigmatism in his eye, but I'm not going to finish the exam with a sick kid, so I can't tell you if he needs glasses" and walked out of the room. I was mortified!!!! I started crying! But i have to give credit to the nurses and support staff who were all wonderful!!

He is an awesome doctor! I’m not sure why someone would write anything negative about him. My daughter started seeing him at age 3. He was amazing with her, he answers all questions and he takes his time with her. He educated me as well as my daughter. He’s truly awesome!

Dr Markowitz and his staff are great with my daughter. Very patient and take the time to answer all of my questions, even when I remember “one last question” in that hallway as he is on his way to see other patients. I am a big fan, as is my daughter.

This is one of the worst doctors I've ever dealt with. Huge ego but no real help. Also tends to overbill patients by including multiple charges in a single visit that lasted just a couple of minutes and was limited to a few questions.

I found Dr Markowitz to be superior in every way. Patient. Clearly explained diagnosis and options. Comforting. Thorough. The entire office staff in Brighton was exceptional.

We are very grateful for Dr Markowitz's expertise in helping our child. He diagnosed an eye-sight problem related to farsightedness and alignment of the eyes that afflicts individuals later in life if not caught early enough. But we did identify the problem and now our child is being treated at the appropriate time.
