List of Golisano Childrens Hospital's Reviews
My 4yo son was discharged yesterday after a 5-day stay in 7 South following emergency surgery for a ruptured appendix. The doctors, nurses, staff, and volunteers made an otherwise scary and painful situation so much more livable. The play areas, family kitchen, craft times, and other special features of the children's facilities really helped lend a wonderful mix of both normalcy and the feeling of extra special treatment. The rooms made it comfortable for my husband and me to be with him 24-hours a day and for family to visit. Everything and everyone was just very serene, helpful, and friendly. From the happy decor, to the volunteers wandering around handing out toys and fuzzy blankets, to the friendliness of support staff like food service and cleaning, you can just tell everyone is trying really hard to make the kids feel like kids and not like patients. The medical treatment we received was also excellent. Our surgeon, Dr. Pegoli, had a great bedside manner, communicated well, took as much time with us as we needed to answer questions and address our concerns, and gave us a level of confidence I hadn't expected to have when entrusting someone to cut my child open. Our discharge was easy, fast, and included excellent directions and follow up. They even helped us get our all of stuff to our car. Since we've been home we've had 2 follow up calls from surgical nurses checking on my son's wounds and healing. When we heard he was going to be admitted we had no idea that our experience in the hospital would be so positive. I am beyond grateful.
I will go to my deathbed thankful for this hospital. They singlehandedly saved my daughter and cared for her during her 70 days stay. They educated us to on how to deal with our extremely premature baby, they comforted us on tough days, they loved and cared for our girl as if she were their own. This was the most terrifying time of my entire life and without the staff of this hospital, I wouldn't have made it through. I owe them everything I have. If you're reading these reviews because your baby is here- I'm sorry that your child is going through whatever hardship it's going through. I know the pain and I know that it feels impossible to overcome. BUT, your child couldn't be getting better care anywhere else. Find a small amount of solace in how much these nurses love these children. I wish I could write a more thoughtful review about all of the amenities and wondefulness that is here, but the biggest thing for me was how I was made to feel every day- which is that our daughter was LOVED and was their priority, always. And if you're looking at Galisano reviews, I'm sure you need some reassurance about how the staff will care for your child.
One of the best places for any child to be if very sick. Families love the treatment from the doctors, nurses and hospital staff. Top notch children's hospital!
Some of our favorite nurses have recently transferred to other departments, and when working with children friendly nurses are a must! Some you can tell give their heart to this place.... While others seem to leave their heart at the door.
A hospital can be an intimidating place for both adults and children especially when it brings up memories of sorrow and trauma. If you're a child or teen and you need a hospital, this is a great place to be. While there are pros and cons to any teaching hospital, an advantage of this one is the emphasis on research and innovation. Intelligent risks in treatment can be beneficial when options are otherwise limited. The pediatric specialties include physicians that are ranked as some of the best in their respective fields. Amenities in pediatric surgery include the use of an iPad complete with games for post-surgery recovery while waiting for a room as well as mini DVD players complete with a library of generously donated children's DVDs. Cartoon characters can be found in various places on the walls, and ceiling tiles are etched with stars. Baby blue stellar-themed pajama scrubs with pants are the power-suits of these little patients. Matching baby-blue socks have smiley-face treads to prevent slipping on the tile floor. It's a welcome reprieve from the flimsy open-back gowns which contribute very little to a human being's sense of dignity. Security is notably tighter and elevators cannot be accessed without stopping at the desk for a photo identification badge. If you've had a visitor pass issued at any time within the past few years, the hospital will probably still have your information on file and (with your appropiate identification) they can just reprint a badge for you. Once you've cleared security, there are plenty of child-friendly details beginning with an elevator that welcomes you to the Golisano Children's Hospital in a child's voice in both English and Español. Colorful lights and artwork greet you on the patient floor along with another layer of security which requires you to be "buzzed in" through the locked doors. There are meeting rooms and even a room just for teens where they can chill and watch tv or surf the net. Each floor has a different theme including Lake, Meadow, Glen, Garden, Park, and City. Park and City, the 7th and 8th foors respectively, are where patient rooms are located. The City is brightly decorated in white and orange hues with cityscapes and traffic lights. Several rooms include cushioned bench-seating along windows which overlook the city of Rochester. The hospital provides access to the GetWell Network which can educate patients and their families on numerous medical conditions and treatments. It is also programmed with a variety of movies in both English and Español for children. The hospital is not quite finished yet and Rochester's favorite, Wegmans, has generously donated for another project which is still in the works. The Wegmans Child Life Program provides resources, services and programs for helping children and their families cope with the issues associated with a hospital stay. While no hospital is perfect and tradegy can even strike in a hospital, the Golisano Children's Hospital strives to provide the best care possible in a child-friendly environment that is constantly looking for innovative solutions in treatment.
Por mi experiencia con mi amado nieto es uno de los mejores hospitales personal del mundo dios los bendiga siempre
A children's hospital that truly exemplifies the motto, "Medicine of the highest order."
They saved my daughters life. The PICU is the unbelievable. They have experts in everything. My daughter has spent 40 days there so far. The staff is very caring and compassionate. We are lucky to have a facility like this in Rochester.
This place is amazing, the staff are compassionate and generous. I loved seeing my child with a smile on her face even when she didnt want to.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
