List of Irondequoit Pediatrics's Reviews
We had an appointment for one thing and they switched it to another because our child had some sniffles from a cold. It was cold and flu season so it was completely normal, but I understand their hesitation to admit him into the clinic because of all the uncertainty due to COVID. The scheduled appointment would have been covered 100% by our provider. The type of visit that they switched it to was not. We were not informed of any of this. (Both unscheduled tests came back negative, as expected; we know our kid.) Needless to say when the bill arrived we were quite surprised. A few discussions later, the administrators would not budge. They introduced an unexpected expense without informing us and wouldn't admit any wrongdoing. They have since reported us to a collection agency. No verdict yet, but I'm amused to observe the scruples of both of these agencies. So, if you like financial surprises, this is definitely the place for you! But if you prefer a relationship built on trust and confidence, maybe you should continue down the list.
I do not recommend this pediatrician's office and we'll never go here again! The office manager is so rude and belittling anytime you owe a bill even if you're making payments on the bill. She makes the front desk staff hound you in even makes the doctor's hound you when you're in the visit with a sick child. They talk to you very rude in front of other patients and staff making it very uncomfortable. I did like the doctors and the nurses but the overall professionalism of the office manager is definitely not what I'm looking for when it comes to caring for my son.
Not a good Dr's office. I brought my daughter in with a throat infection and fever after 12 days of illness. They refused to write her a prescription for the throat infection and wanted her to get blood work instead, when clearly it was tonsillitis (this is one of several occasions). I called the office and the office manager proceed to tell me the protocol and she is NOT a doctor, nor did a second Dr in the office call me to discuss. She pushed me off the phone and was rude. The Dr that didn't want to write an antibiotic called me back and talked down to me very rude and unprofessionally like ego was more important than my daughter's illness, in her attempt to be rock headed, my daughter lay crying and couldn't eat food or swallow. Very uncaring. She insisted blood work would tell her if there was a bacterial throat infection (after 10 days of viral?) cmon not rocket science plus blood takes 3-5 days for results. I took my daughter the next day to ear nose and throat specialist who shook his head and wondered why they refused to treat her, said they should have written her a script for antibiotics and said blood work was unnecessary. Within in 1.5 days she was extremely better, no pain. Bottom line, don't wait around for incompetency for 2weeks, these folks can weigh you and take your temp and that is it. No expertise or knowledge. Go right to the specialist if you start getting horsed around with the not wanting to treat an infection with antibiotics...the one star is cause I had to, side note Dr Campbell, who is relatively new to this office from Rochester General, is brilliant if you can get his time...I am getting her out asap, worst pediatrics and I have children whom are 29 years old. Rochester General Peds was the best should have stayed there.
Have always gotten great care from all the doctors.
I just love them. I was there as a child and now I bring out 16 month there and will also be bringing our new baby as well. When my daughter had an episode and I needed to bring her to the ED and later stay for observation Dr. Edwards came to see us and I will never forget the feeling of relief when I saw her walk through the door to see our little one.
While pregnant, my now 4 year old was diagnosed with Downs and had medical issues/surgeries when born. Dr. Bennett has been his Pediatrician since birth and is very knowledgeable with his condition and has other patients as well with Downs. I've always loved Bringing my son here. It's a very friendly, inviting atmosphere and we will remain patients until he's an adult. Thank you for all your care Dr Bennett and staff, you all take such great care of him!
As a new mom, I highly recommend Irondequoit Pediatrics! They definitely get 5 stars after moving to this new location around the end of October. With a newborn, I know that time is valuable so let me get down to the nitty gritty. Below are the main reasons why I like IP. - They have late hours (Monday - Thursday until 7pm) and are open Saturday mornings, which is great for those who work typical business hours. - There's walk-in hours twice a day. - They have a lactation consultant, Dianne, who is very supportive. She even offered her personal cell number to me. - Dr. Savage is warm, gentle, and attentive to my newborn. She also answers all of my questions. - The waiting room has a section for the sick kids and another for the kids who are there for well visits. (Important to me because I don't want my healthy newborn around the sick kids!) - The patient room we were in was equipped for a nursing mom - boppy, disposable slipcovers, breastfriend (another type of nursing pillow), and a comfy rocking chair with foot rest. Nice touch! Also, there was a cute sign to put on the door to let others know to knock first before entering when nursing. - The patient room also has diapers and wipes. - Also, there's a chalkboard for mini people to use to keep them entertained in the patient room. - Decor is kid friendly and lucky for me, since I'm a Finding Nemo fan, aquarium-themed. - Office is bigger and freshly remodeled. - Lastly, as a new patient, we received an infant binder with a growth tracker chart, family history form, office information, and other additional information. At each visit, we received an information packet that describes diet, hygiene, safety, behavior and development, and any other relevant information about our baby at the age she is at the time of the appointment (i.e. 2 weeks, 2 months, 4 months, etc.). Also, the nurse writes down my daughter's height, weight, and head circumference on the packet for our records. This is my first child and first experience with pediatrics and I am impressed and grateful for the attention and care given to my daughter.
2/3 of my kids have life-threatening heart conditions. Each and every one of the doctors at this practice are careful and reassuring about my kiddoes.
They are great when it comes to my son medical needs .

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
