List of Seth S Charatz's Reviews
I wasn't going to write this review because I wasn't sure I wanted to clue Dr Charatz that I have this figured out. He was my husband's doctor for 15ish years!! There is a huge story behind this but in the end it was found out that my husband had been misdiagnosed with type 2 diabetes when he was actually type 1. Dr Charatz put my husband on a medication regimen that required my husband to take as much insulin as he needed according to how high his blood was, because type 1 diabetics sugar gets much higher then type 2 my husband was taking way to much of the insulin and it was causing his sugars to drop to quickly and my husband to have major and multiple seizures every time he ate. There was a time my husband was having as many as 50 seizure a day and many of them were massive seizures. After Dr Charatz realized my husband was actually type 1 diabetes he then continued to hide the diagnosis change in the books by not changing my husbands medication regime resulting in another 2.5 years of major and massive seizures. Knowing my husband was having these seizures and why may I add. I have filed a complaint against him I don't plan on shutting up until something is done with him. My beautiful husband has lost a large majority of his adult life and this man is the reason!!!!!! Message me for the whole story! This man is dangerous my husband knocked at deaths door so many times because of the seizures severity of them.
Went in as a new patient he did not have any of my test results told me he was going to contact my kidney Dr and get back to me. It has been 6 weeks and I have not heard a word. Good thing it's not life or death.
Listened to my concerns and continues to aide in my long term treatment.
I spent more time with his nurse partinicer. I saw him all of about 2 minutes total waste of time!!! Every thing he told me was no different than what I was told from my primary doctor!!! I definitely will not be seeing him again!!!
I cannot express how irresponsible I feel Dr. Charatz can be! My sibling has been dealing with many major symptoms for months. His primary sent him to Charatz who scared him by saying he felt strongly that he had a tumor based on his symptoms. Sent him for more bloodwork and was then to get an MRI. well labs indicated that .1 from the lowest in the "normal" range. He received a letter telling him to back to his primary. After being on this emotional roller coaster this is all he had to offer?! What about the MRI? What about caring for your patient?! The symptoms are still present, his quality of life is being affected, there was no interested in helping him resolve this medical delema. Worst experience ever!!!
He insisted I take blood pressure medicine because that is their normal protocol for diabetes. He ignored that I had low to normal blood pressure and I suffer from Raynauds. Following his advice resulted in triggering my Raynauds even on 90 degree summer days and I started having dizzy spells. I called his office and he told me “so wear gloves” My rheumatologist and PCP were furious at his one size fits all protocol and immediately had me stop the medicine. My symptoms disappeared and I found a different doctor.
Not sure about the other reviews...if something fishy is going on, but I found him a very competent doctor. Having just moved from SC this was my first time visiting UofR and this practice. He took labs and adjusted my dosage. I feel good having him as my doctor in the care of my thyroid cancer.
Dr. Charatz is the most rude and unprofessional endocrinologist that I have every had! He doesn't give you a check up or check your feet. He is condescending and is not sympathetic to his patients. The appointments are about 10 minutes long. AVOID HIM!
Impatient and condescending. Doesn't really care about his patients and just wants to bill for everything.
I've seen him for 5 years. The group in this office is amazing. Dr Charatz is a very knowledgeable, helpful doctor. He is to the point, which i like. He does not waste anyone's time when discussing plans or diagnois. He REALLY takes what you have to say or what you think into consideration. The only thing I can see others having issues with is he can seem dismissive with his busy schedule. He is VERY to the point with his patients. I personally love it, being busy myself. If you are someone who likes to chit chat with your provider, he is not the doctor for you.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
