List of Syed S. Mustafa's Reviews
We wen to see Dr. Mustafa and staff about a year and a half ago and the experience had it's challenges. However, during our recent visit had a stark difference in treatment. I am not sure if they had some changes since that time or what happened but, it is definitely for the better. Everyone was warm, friendly, helpful and kind. Very professional and clear communication about what the plan was and where to go from here. Great experience!
This unprofessional provider, works with my specialist, and without having ever met me or knowing my case took it upon himself to contact my pharmacy and withdraw a standing prescription my doctor has me on for rheumatoid arthritis. He stated it interacted with other prescriptions but never discussed with my doctor nor did he alert me to this change (which had he been correct, perhaps I should have been warned). I continued taking my medication until I ran out and was unable refill my script. My wonderful specialist, Dr. Quaidoo, corrected this and reinstated my script.
I suspect that Dr. Mustafa wants to work exclusively with children especially in regard to the new oral treatment for peanut allergy to reduce anaphylaxis. While he may be an excellent Allergist for children, he is not a good pick for an Adult. Both my husband and twin sister have been seen regularly by different Allergists at this AIR practice since 1990, and myself, since 2010, following an emergency room visit. We have been seen for annual visits in addition to as needed appointments. We were all reassigned to Dr. Mustafa after other Allergists left the practice. When my husband saw Dr. Mustafa for the first time at an annual visit, he stated he told him not to come back. When my sister saw him for the first time at an annual visit, she stated he questioned why she was there, was extremely rude, stated he didn't think her asthma was that bad without listening to her lungs or reviewing her chart, and questioned her listed allergies. I decided to cancel my first annual visit with him
Horrible! I waited almost 3 months for a new patient appointment. He came barreling into the room, very intensely. He didn't bother looking at my history chart(which I know for a fact because the receptionist wouldn't take it and he didn't either in the exam room) so he had no idea what I had been tested for previously and what my life threatening allergies were). Any time I asked relevant questions, he would be very condescending, ignore them altogether, or look at my teenager and ask/say to him, "well, you do this that and the other thing, you're okay!" My son, not liking seeing me disrespected said, "I'm not my mother and you can't compare us! " Syed Mustafa didn't listen when I told him I can't take medications because any time I have I end up in the ER. I asked him if I could be allergic to the binders. He scoffed at me and said "no, there's no way" he just kept pushing me to take a prescription he was writing and said the worst thing it would do is make me tired. I left crying. his level of "professionalism" was enough for me to never want to step foot in another Dr office again. I took the prescription to the pharmacist, explained the situation and told her Dr Mustafa said the only side effect was being sleepy. She printed out 2 pages of side effects from the medication, most of which I've experienced with any medicine I've tried to take. I didn't take the prescription and thanked her for her truthfulness and help. Fast forward a couple of months later, my son was looking for a nightshade free recipe for me, since I'm deathly allergic to all nightshades (confirmed by a skin test by my former allergist who sadly moved out of state). He found a webpage that had said "people who are allergic or intolerant to nightshades often have a hard time finding medications the can take because they are used as binders in most medicine". It listed the names the filler would be called. His first words after reading this to me were, "that a$$h@/£ doctor lied to you" Dr Mustafa is too big headed for his own good, and certainly for his patients own good. I'd rate the experience a zero.
I’d say, zero stars. The worst experience I’ve ever had a lot a Dr’s office.
He is very thorough and very kind
He is incredibly knowledgeable and has a great bed side manner. I have been very impressed with how thorough he is. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Mustafa is one of the kindest, gentlest doctors I have ever worked with for my daughter. His knowledge surpasses those with three times his experience. When it comes to fixing a problem, he is very aggressive and looks at every angle to insure complete health. If you or a loved one has an issue with allergies or immune system disorders, go to him! He will make you feel better.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
