Pain free I had severe pain and trouble walking. I had minimal invasive surgery and what a difference. My recovery was easy and now I can sleep through the night. Thank you Dr Birk!

As so many others have stated, Dr. Birk is thorough, knowledgeable and a highly skilled Neuro surgeon. He pulls up your MRI and can explain every single detail on the screen. As for my situation, I fell and broke my back. I had kyphoplasty surgery to rebuild my L4 which unfortunately put more pressure on my already severe stenosis of L2-L4. He performed a laminectomy on those disc and I was immediately pain free. I find him easy to talk to,he answers my questions clearly and tells it like it is. I highly recommend him, actually I already have sent him a referral and I will continue to do so. And if I develop any further issues in my spine, I will return to him.

Dr. Birk is one of a kind! He is empathetic, someone who completely validated my pain, listened to my problems and treated me like a human being. He is compassionate, professional, and extremely confident. I've had 3 prior upper neck surgeries on different levels from C3 to C7 from another surgeon dating from 2004 to 2021. After years of still suffering from pain, weakness, fatigue, tingling, and numbness I gave up. I even tried physical therapy, acupuncture and message therapy afterwards, and nothing worked. Dr. Birk, in conversation, came highly recommended. I contemplated and contemplated. Should I bother or shouldn't I. I made the appointment for a consultation. It was the best decision I made. I can honestly say I walked out of his office with tears of joy, and hope again. He took the time to sit down with me in his office. He was so prepared, and had my prior records ready to go. Dr. Birk did his research for sure. I've been to so many different Dr's for so many years looking for answers. He knew I was completely frustrated. Dr. Birk started from scratch with X rays, CT, and MRIs. It turns out I had a failed fusion from 2013 unbeknownst to me. A condition called Pseudoarthrosis. Finally an answer! It wasn't in my head, and I wasn't crazy all these years. My pain was real. Even though someone looks fine on the outside doesn't mean they don't suffer in silence. Why this wasn't recognized with the last surgery and surgeon in 2021 baffles me. My symptoms continued and continued. I recently had a surgical revision with Dr. Birk. I have complete faith this surgery will be the one that changes my life back for the better again. I'm looking forward to it. Thank you Dr. Birk from the bottom of my ❤️. People like you come once in a life time.

Dr is very understanding and very helpful about your situation and your health

Dr. Birk makes you feel at ease from the moment you walk into his office. He takes time to explain everything and answers all your questions. You are never rushed through your visit. We recently moved to SC. If I ever need surgery I will definitely come back up to NY to have DR. Birk do it.
