List of Farid Shahkoohi's Reviews
Definitely be careful going to this place. When they drew blood, the nurse did it wrong & I've been recovering from a nerve injury for almost 2 weeks now. They also told me when I went in that I would only have to pay a couple hundred for my exam, but then when I received bills for over $1000 and called to ask, they insisted that they told me that and rudely said it was my issue if I forgot. How would I forget having to pay over 5 times the original amount? This is also the only doctor's office I've ever been to that has said that I must pay in cash, which strikes me as very odd.
My mother was hospitalized with pneumonia and was assigned to this doctor. She was there a week and unfortunately never returned. In that time there was ZERO communication with the doctor. Yes, heard from the PA, but never heard anything from this doctor. Not even a condolence phone call. It’s been 4 weeks now and I still don’t know why she had a downturn under their care. I still don’t know if everything that could be done was done. Now a life is lost and my life is forever changed.
Dr Shahkoohi was very respectful and kind during my visits. He carefully explained the plan for my treatment and showed me to how to care for myself while living with my illness. I highly recommend him as my primary physician.
Dr Shahkoohi listened to my concerns and addressed them one by one. He showed that he cared. and I will definitely return to to him for a follow-up.
Dr Shahkoohi has been my doctor for over 13 years. He is the best doctor that Has ever treated me. He gets to the bottom of any medical issues and doesn’t rest until he finds out what’s disturbing your health. If I could give him 10 stars instead of 5 stars I would!
Excellent Dr. Shookie. Great staff
Where do I begin. Dr. Shahkoohi was a family doctor to just about everyone in my family. I have now stepped away from this office and so have a few of my other family members. Many of the receptionists are very rude. While one of the receptionist were on the phone with one of my family members one of the receptionist forgot to hang up and stated "she doesn't shut up". It's disgusting how far this office has fallen. I have multiple medical issues and even while seeing the doctor there I wasn't receiving the right treatment and was constantly in the hospital. The reason I really left was because the doctor stated "if you continue to go to the hospital I will lose my rights in the hospital" that threw me over the edge, since I left this office I have been diagnosed with many medical issues he did not pick up on/ or made my conditions worse as I said there was something wrong! Since I left this office I have been diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos and Dysautonomia/POTS. On top of this my liver is beginning to shut down that everyone thought I was lying about. Infracts on my liver that they stated were gone are actually worse and my adenoma has grown more then a cm and there now deciding on a liver resection with high liver enzymes. I also have been Iron deficient for quite sometime I was told that I needed Iron infusions! I was also told by Dr. Shahkoohi and his PA that this is psychological and my new doctors said this is far from psychological but a hard case. When I was hospitalized multiple times telling them somethings is wrong they should have listened not ignored it. I'm completely disgusted that my care wasn't taken seriously here and how me and my family have been treated long time patients of this office. If you don't care too much about your health this is the place to go!
If you’re looking for a brilliant, compassionate, and think outside the box kind of doctor, then you should be seeing Dr. Shahkoohi. He takes the time to talk with you, he’s patient, he’s spot on, I can go on and on about how wonderful he is. I feel obligated to share my feelings about him and let others know, yet don’t want to give away long island’s best MD for fear everyone will go to him! But seriously, I was undiagnosed for years, and when I went to Dr. Shahkoohi, he pinpointed every single thing we need to work on together to get me feeling good again. I love him!!!

Dr. S is great but the staff really needs to change. Melissa the medical assistant is horrible, she missed blood on me three times and hurt my arm with a flu shot. She really should not be working there, avoid at all costs.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
