I brought my father in to see Dr. Sonstein at the recommendation of another very well touted physician. First and foremost, the front desk staff is absolutely amazing. Theresa was patient and compassionate. The front desk is the first in-person impression of the office. As someone employed in medical administration, I understand the importance of front deskcustomer service. The service provided at the front desk was A++. As for Dr. Sonstein himself, he is an honest, compassionate and knowledgeable provider. He would rather discuss every option prior to committing to surgery, which has me in awe because surgery is how his money is made! That alone speaks volumes. On top of everything else, his patient care practice (bedside manner included) is phenomenal which is extremely rare in medical practice today! I would definitely recommend this practice to anyone looking for the perfect balance between professionalism and compassion.
Dr. Sonstein has operated on me twice, and I feel blessed to have found him. He is a consummate professional and a truly gifted surgeon. He cares about his patients and is consistently available to accommodate their needs. I highly recommend him!!!!!!!
The worst I walked in with a cane and now have spent 3 years in a wheelchair, I’m not the only one
Exceptional physician. He takes the time to make sure that you understand the diagnosis, and he explains it in terms that makes sense to anyone. During my office visit he spent more time with me than my PCP. At the end he didn’t push the surgery but strongly urged without pressure to act. Truthfully I wish all doctors could be as good as Dr Sonstein
As always, Dr. William Sonstein does not choose surgery as a primary objective. He looks at the patient as a whole person and cares about the emotional well being of his patients. He looks at films first, not the reports of others. He makes his own decisions. I go to him when I am scared by other doctors who are alarmists. He is not.
Should of went to sonnstein when he told my daughter his Dx. She’s 18 and picked Dr in the city. Biggest mistake of her life. The titanium he put in wrong popped a hole in her-esophagus 15 hrs tube feeding and diverticulum in throat. Did my husbands two surgeries no problem. Would see him over all others
Excellent

I have been a patient of Dr. Sonstein's for over 10 years. Whether it was pre-surgery, surgery, or post surgery, he has taken care of me to my highest satisfaction. He is kind, caring, and knowledgeable, He is not an alarmist, is not, surgery happy, and has many treatment options. Teresa, handles appointment, intake, etc. She is a model of what everyone in her job should be like. She cares for the patients, along with Dr. Sonstein, leaving me to totally trust in Dr. Sonstein and his practice.
I felt very rushed & was made to feel stupid with my questions....his eye rolling attitude really turned me off & I will Never go back there, even to his college he recommended!!! Why would I? To feel stupid again........the staff needs to learn how to keep their mouths shut or their opinions to them selves about who is in the waiting room, like when one asked the other,& I quote Where does she find these people? Answer- on chat! Well guess what ladies.....that's how YOU guys found ME!!!!!!!!

Professional, intelligent and extremely down to earth! After interviewing 4 other top surgeons, I knew Dr. Sonstein was the right choice because it's been 5 years after my C6-7 fusion and I have absolutely no problems or pain. Just recently recommended him!
Difficult to get follow up answers
I was in so much pain I could no longer function.I couldn't sleep, sit, stand, walk, do anything without excruciating pain in my lower back and down my left leg.Dr Sonstein showed me the damage on the MRI and explained so I could understand how he could relieve it with a PLIF procedure. Everything went EXACTLY as he said it would. The morning after the surgery 2 physical therapists stood me up and with the help of a walker, I took a few steps. I experienced NO PAIN in my lower back or legs. After the staples were removed and a couple weeks of physical therapy I was back to work. Four weeks to the day of my surgery. With the help of PT, I am continuing to get stronger day by day. I have my life back.Thank you Dr. Sonstein. Also every time I have been to his office, everyone, especially Theresa a saint, has been more than professional.
