This is a review I should have written right after my office visit.I had seen Dr. Romano March, 2021 for a severe case of shingles on my face, eyelid and head. He was wonderful! Upon arriving his staff was professional, and made me feel comfortable (first time with a neurologist). My appointment was for 10:15 and Dr. Romano walked into the exam room at 10:15!! He spent about an hour with me, explaining exactly what the shingles virus had done to the trigeminal nerve bundle. He patiently answered all my questions, the examination was not the "nightmare" I expected. Gentle, thorough and informative. He understood my hesitation to take the usual medications for pain management (anti-seizure meds), as the walk-in prescribed them days earlier to which my speech and coordination were impacted. He referred me to an "alternative" physician who has also been a great help. I've recommended Dr. Romano to anyone that is in need of an excellent Neurologist. Great experience!

I was a stroke patient of Dr. Romano for 5 years. I attempted to reach him for three days while experiencing excruciating pain of trigeminal neuralgia. When he finally called me back after three days of multiple attempts to reach him, he told me he was doing the best he could and had to see twice as many patients to make the same “ money “ as he used to. Now that he is part of the Stony Brook system it is all about the money and not the patient

I was a stroke patient of Dr. Romano for five years and called the office for three days asking to speak to Dr. Romano and explaining my symptoms to several of his staff. After finding help elsewhere for the excruciating pain of trigeminal neuralgia, he finally called me back to say he was doing the best he could and the he had to see twice as many patients as he used to to make the same money.

Dr.Romano is the absolute best Dr ever..he's caring,kind and compassionate..I had trigger point injections yesterday and he stayed in the room with me afterwards to make sure I was ok.I see quite a few Drs for other issues and I have to say he tops them all

For almost two years I was having trouble walking short distances, I was weak, in pain and balance was a problem. After seeing several doctors over several months with no diagnosis, I met with Dr. Romano who sent me for some tests at Mather Hospital. As a result, he determined that I had NPH and suggested I see Dr. Egnor, a neurosurgeon. I was admitted to Stonybrook University Hospital where a shunt was placed in my head. As a result, I am now about 75% back to normal. Thank you Dr. Romano

I’ve been a patient for many years. He’s just a wonderful, knowledgeable, professional doctor, who takes the time to listen to his patients! Highly recommend him. Punctual too. He’s just a great doctor!!!

I have found Dr. Romano to be one of the most patient, kind and understanding doctors around. I have recommended him numerous times and my friends agree. He takes the time to LISTEN and genuinly cares. I even moved out of state but continue to keep my yearly check ups with him.

Been seeing him for years I recommend everyone to him. His bedside manner is suburb he's funny and one of the best neurologist is Suffolk period. I don't know what is Jon W problem. really giving the doctor a 1 start
