Why is a weight loss doctor fat? I don't understand!

Ten years ago the doctor made me have an ivc filter inserted before I could have weight loss surgery. Pieces of that filter have now broken off and traveled to my kidney and my heart. I am terrified about what could happen. I could bleed to death if the piece in my heart tears through the muscle and I could lose the kidney because of where it is. The rest of the filter could continue to break off.

Great sales man, to pitch you the reshape balloon procedure. My experience with the Bariatric group was a complete waste of time and money, almost 10K. I went in for the newly Fda cleared dual balloon system. After the insertion I was sick for a week in a way I have never been in my entire life. I lost about 15 pounds during that first 2 weeks, from not being able to keep anything down and dehydration. I wasn't able to sleep without constant stomach pain until the 4th night. I wish somebody had paid me to endure this self enduced experiment. I highly considered going back to have the foreign bodies removed but there was no chance for a refund and I wanted to loose the weight. Months later I had the balloons removed having lost only ten pounds from the on set and the Dr. Garber didn't even show his face when I was awake to talk about my experience. It was quite obvious he wanted to avoid me at the risk of having any kind of unpleasant interaction. If someone had paid me 10K to loose 35 pounds I would have had far better luck. They have a tactic to withhold vital information about the procedure, after you've already paid an unrefundable $550, for scheduling the procedure. You show up on the day, they have a nutritionist unload on you and then you're like, I guess I am doing this, or I'm out $550 for nothing. I got the most expensive digital scale out of the whole experience. Thanks. I didn't wish to even give 1 star.

Amazing experience at New York Bariatric Group. Comprehensive Center. Did my entire preoperative workup in one day. Dr. Garber super compassionate and most experienced surgeon in New York.

One of the nicest doctors I've met. He saved my father from his obesity. My dad was just shy of 500 pounds, now he's under 250 and has been since his procedure more than 10 years ago.

Dr Shawn Garber at NYBG saved my life. NYBG gave me my life back after being unhealthy and very overweight litterally 7 months ago! I look and feel like a super model lol it’s hysterical at the age of 51!!! Life is great now and I owe it all to NYBG and Dr Shawn Garber I’m finally living thank you from the bottom of my heart !
