I went for a consult and the doctor was very nice. I was charged $50 for this visit. I don't have dental insurance and the office worker said they put it through my medical and my co-pay is $50. Ive been to other oral surgeons and not one of them charged me for a consult. They took X-rays and the doctor gave me a referral to a dentist to see if dentist would be able to help me. If the dentist can help me, then they will work together for my treatment.

Very pleased with my experience using Dr. Bast. Chair side manner is on point and he was very thorough. I was able to get an appointment quickly and his office communication with my dentist is great. Highly recommend! Roger F.

Dr Bast was wonderful. Kind, responsive, warm plus excellent skills. I am a dental phobe and I would go back to him in heartbeat. Little wait. Discount for seniors. But more importantly sensitive to patients' needs.

I had my consult with Dr.Bast and he did run behind. I told reception and the nurse I had to be out by a certain time, they made it happen and so did Bast. He was thorough and to the point. I booked my appt for surgery (all 4 wisdom pulled). An hr and a half before surgery I read these reviews and almost cancelled but didn’t. I did call ahead of time to see if he was running late, he was. The receptionist was sweet, she told me to come in 15 min later. When I got in I was so nervous!!! They went over billing and tried to tell me I was having oxygen and sweet air. I simply told them I’m not getting the sweet air. Not too mention it costs 150$ out of pocket. I also didn’t need it bec I chose to be knocked out for this procedure. My biggest issue was being numb in my throat after waking. I told them my worries. Well, I woke up no numbness at ALL in my throat. Only chin, bottom lip and half tongue. My teeth were NOT impacted. I had such LITTLE pain right after and now 6 days later!! It was too easy (def swollen cheek/jaw and horrid bruising) and Dr. Bast will always be my first choice!!! I’m so relieved and happy I went to him!

Worst experience ever, didn't sedate me properly. Felt most of the pain during my 4 wisdom teeth removal. Told me to stop being a baby and all I kept doing was apologizing meanwhile I was in extreme pain. Also tore the skin from the sides of my lips, so not only do I need to treat the pain from my teeth being removed but also concerned for the skin on the sides of my lips. He basically only cared about the fact that everyone in the waiting room could hear me screaming for 36 minutes straight instead of how I was feeling and how much pain I was in and that I was definitely NOT FULLY SEDATED.

Went to long island oral and maxillofacial surgery center in Sayville for the first time as it was an urgent visit.. Unfortunately I ended up with this doctor William Bast.. After a 3 hour wait he came in and spoke to me to explain necessary procedure. I should have walked out right then and there but I was in desperate need of an extraction. I found this man who calls himself a "health care professional" to be one of the most condescending, arrogant and inpatient providers I have ever met.. Also Rude... Stay away from Long Island oral and maxillofacial surgery in Sayville.

I was able to get an emergency appt for a wisdom tooth extraction on the same day. Dr. Bast was super nice and made what I thought would be a horrific experience very easy and painless. His calm demeanor made me feel at ease.
