Dr. novitsky repaired my very big (22 cm) recurred venral hernia. Before then, I was in lots of pain for months, and I am in awe of what a beautiful professional job Dr. Novitsky has done. It was an open hernia repair which lasted more than 5 hours, but it was well worth it. He reconstructed my entire abdominal wall with a permanent mesh, yielding beautiful (and hopefully, lasting) results. I was treated with respect by the Dr. and team. Tori, the nurse at the office is always available to answer any questions or concerns. Jenni, was super accommodating when it came to scheduling accommodating my busy schedule. Thank you Dr. Novitsky for making me feel human again!

I highly recommend Dr Yuri Novitsky, at the Columbia Hernia Center, if you need an inguinal hernia repair, as I did recently in May, 2022. I am a 75 year old professional & I chose Dr Novitsky for my inguinal hernia repair based on the numerous extraordinarily positive reviews of his work & based upon the fact that I was looking for a highly experienced surgeon who specializes in and focuses primarily on hernia repair. On the day of the surgery everything went very smoothly - just as Dr Novitsky had described. In addition, on the days following the surgery, I experienced very little discomfort and no pain by following the recommendations provided by Dr Novitsky & the post-op instructions that his team provided. By the time of my post-op meeting with Dr Novitsky, 2 weeks after the surgery, I was back to following my weekly jogging & strength training exercise schedule - with only a few temporary refinements.

Dr Novitzky is an Excellent Dr, he helped me tremendously! I didn’t think it would be possible to repair my hernias like he did!. I have very little scarring and recovering very fast. Don’t waste your time going somewhere else, after years of dealing with another surgeon’s atrocities, living with a vacuum, having multiple surgeries and recurring multiple hernias., Dr Novitzky’s masterful skills and personal care gave me back my life! Dr Novitsky performed laproscopic surgery on my inguinal hernia. I came out of surgery with minimal discomfort. I used only an ice pack on surgical site; no need for pain killers. I highly recommend Dr Novitsky. His reputation as a top surgeon for hernia repair is deserved.

I had double hernia surgery in Staten Island Within 2 months the double hernia's were back. I was not going back to Staten Island Someone recommended Dr Novitsky . Four weeks ago he preformed the surgery Removed the hernia's He also had to reconstruct my entire stomach.I can not tell you how happy I am with the outcome He is truly a great surgeon not to mention very handsome ! Lol Anyone who needs any kind of hernia or reconstruction of the stomach this is your man ! Last but not least his office assistant Jennifer is the best doctors assistant there is .She is caring,helpful, and efficient Makes you feel very comfortable Cannot say enough about my entire experience

The operation went very well and all staff members that I interfaced with were truly top notch. Exceptional group!

Dr Novitsky fixed a year long problem that I had and gave me my life back. His staff was very helpful, fought my insurance and got me in quickly and out of pain. Very grateful for his services.

I strongly do not recommend this doctor. He did not listen to me, when I told him my pain was a 9/10. He said my pain was all in my head. He had no empathy or compassion and made no effort to establish a relationship with me. He complained that I was aggressive and difficult and accused me of faking my pain. He was rude and arrogant. He did not take any time to listen to me or get to understand me. I felt like did not care about me as a patient, but insisted that there must be something wrong with me if I am in pain. It was a very painful and disturbing experience.

I have never had such a horrible experience in surgery in my entire life (and I have had over 5 surgeries) . Everything with this guy was an absolute disaster. He failed to properly medicate me in the surgery, so that I actually got up off the operating table (apparently), and had to held down by 5 people....according to Dr. Novitsky. Not only was I insufficiently medicated for the part when they cut me open, when I got back to the room he insisted I was making up my pain!!! He actually blamed me for being a bad patient and having a bad attitude b/c I misbehaved on the operating table!?!? WTF? Morever, I was telling them my pain was a 9 out of 10, and he responded by saying that most pain is psychological. Then, after he sent me home with a measly 5mg, I could hardly get through the night, and was not able to go the six hours till the next pill. They told me to stay ahead of the pain, which is how you avoid agony, but the prescription failed to deliver. The next day I explained the situation to the Nurse Practitioner, Keisha, who was the only one who treated me humanely. She immediately had a new script sent over. But then a fellow Dr. Novitsky called to tell me that she decided to RESCIND the prescription. Her tone was accusatory and she was trying to trip me up to prove that I was faking it. What a bunch of unbelievably irresponsible medical practitioners. It felt like they were treating me like a junky looking to score drugs, instead of a patient in need of medical care.I realize now how inconvenient I am to Dr. Notivsky. If you read his information, he is all about how easy hernia surgery is, how quick the recovery is, and how you can run a 5K the next day (like he bragged to me while minimizing my pain). But he is a horrible doctor who develops no relationship with his patients, blames them when he screws up, and treats them like objects. He shamed me over and over again, calling me a bad patient, in a despicable and shameless effort to cover up for his incompetence. Not only that, but he really comes off like a macho tough guy, who thinks the world of himself, but in reality, he lacks empathy and care---what a dick!
