David D. Kim's Online Review Report Card

I have been going to Astor Medical Group to see Dr. Kim for at least 5 years, and I am very pleased with Dr. Kim's professionalism and care. Prior to seeing Dr. Kim, I had been seeing a doctor for over 15 years, but owing to her retirement, I asked my long-term doctor to recommend a physician, and she gave me the name of one whom I subsequently found to be inadequate. After going through 2 more doctors after that, and not being happy with my experiences, I asked a friend of mine for a recommendation, and my friend informed me about Dr. Kim. Having had underwhelming results with the other doctors I had seen previously, I was not expecting to find one as good as the doctor I had been seeing for over 15 years, but I came to see Dr. Kim with an open mind.I would like to believe that actions speak louder than words, and that my having been with Dr. Kim for this length of time is my implicit endorsement of the quality of health care Dr. Kim extends to me.I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Kim to all of my friends.

The office is very clean and well run. The assisting staff is efficient and helpful. If you are sick they take you the same day. Dr. Kim is very professional and caring and offers a portal where you can send him emails for non urgent communication (he is not locked in an Ivory Tower like some doctors are). After my doctor of 15 years retired, I was forced to find a new primary care physician. Having had a personable, efficient, intelligent doctor for 15 years, I was hardpressed to find someone who was just as good. After going through 4 doctors, Dr. Kim was recommended to me by an acquaintance. Needless to say, I have never been happier. Dr. Kim is efficient, incredibly intelligent, empathetic, and professional. I have been going to Dr. Kim for several years now, and I am thoroughly pleased. Dr. Kim himself does not act like he is in a rush to whisk you out, and usher in the next patient. He answers my concerns throroughly, caringly, and with careful deliberation. In hindsight, Dr. Kim is a much better physician than the one with whom I was for 15 years, and my previous doctor had set the bar quite high. The wait time at his office is short. His front staff is friendly, and efficient. Whenever I call to schedule an appontment, a referral, or a request for a prescription refill, the staff gets back to me within a very reasonable tiime.

I would highly recommend Dr. Kim to anyone, and I am very happy that he is my physician, and feel secure knowing that I have a very thoughtful and patient doctor as a partner in my healthcare. That being said, there is a wait, often in the exam room, and the office is a little outdated, cluttered and crowded. But once you are with Dr. Kim in the exam room, you have all his unrushed attention.

I've been a patient of Dr. Kim before he started Astor Medical Group. I have to admit he has spoiled me. I've never gone to a doctor before who has taken such good care of me. Any time I have a problem he always gets back to me or has me schedule an appointment even if it's for a hang nail. The only thing that keeps me from moving out of the city is the sad reality I would most likely not find the same attentive and caring doctor outside the city. Many friends and most of the staff at my work have gone to him per my recommendation and share the same thoughts.

Dr. Kim is extremely educated and caring. He reminds me often of the character Gregg House from the television show House M.D. on Fox (yet he is not mean/grumpy just accurate with diagnosis/entertaining). He holds the reputation as the best anesthesiologist in the Schenectady area, and is especially caring to the family/loved ones of his patient.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kim at Astor Medical Group since 2004. Faced with a series of life challenges both medical and personal, Dr. Kim has been a guide in my life and provided me excellent care. I was stunned when my first appointment lasted more than 30 min and included detailed questions and conversation about my life unrelated to medical issues. I have never met a doctor or any health care professional who cared more for me as a person. Stories of my great treatment has lead to 9 of my closest friends friends and colleagues to also choose Dr. Kim as their primary care physician. Astor Medical is run very well, when having an appointment I have never waited more than 10 min to see Dr. Kim, only once did I have a billing issue which was resolved easily, I have never had a problem getting referrals, prescription re-fills, or talking to Dr. Kim when I had a question or concern.

Great experience with Dr. Kim. Very funny, outgoing, and caring. I felt in great hands with him during my operation. I would recommend requesting his presence if receiving any cardiac procedures in the Albany area.
