I had surgery at the bone and joint on my wrist in 2016 and have struggled with pain and numbness since. I have seen multiple (male) doctors at the bone and joint and have been dismissed by every one. One visit with Dr Scordino and she did more than every other dr i’ve seen in the last five years put together. Her and the nurse both acknowledged my pain, they were sympathetic and so helpful, I cried when I got in the car because I finally felt like someone believed me. Im only 25 so when the other doctors told me there was nothing I could do and to “get a job where I don’t use my hands”, I felt SO hopeless. One visit at ortho ny with Dr Scordino made me feel so heard and hopeful. I am so unbelievably grateful for her and her whole team.
Her care coordinator, Barb, at OrthoNY is downright RUDE. I would go someone else.
Due to arthritis, I lost function and had pain in my left thumb. Surgery fused the joint and returned function without pain. On my first appointment, Dr. Scorpio explained what was going on and what my options were. The information she provided was very straightforward and factual. After several months, as the thumb joint got worse, I called and scheduled surgery. She performed the operation and I saw her and her staff several times for placement in a brace and then a cast. After 2 1/2months, physical therapy and stretching/ strengthening work, I can report that I have my thumb back and the pain is gone. Dr. Scorpio and her staff did a fabulous professional job and I would highly recommend her/them.
Dr. Scordino was knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and patient when I first saw her in the office. I had minor surgery after that visit and she was equally through yet patient and kind. I would highly recommend her for any hand/wrist issue.
Terrible! Appointment was rushed and she offered no solutions. Acted like I was bothering her and she had no interest in helping me.
Terrible experience. She made me feel like she didn’t want to deal with my problem at all. I had high hopes reading all the positive reviews but left there disappointed. People like her are the reason people like me do not trust Doctors.
My thumb was badly crushed. Dr. S saw me after ER put it together as best they could. The ER said it was likely to need removal. After exam Dr S advised that the fragments were in a good position to fuse without further surgery, as long as we could avoid infection. She is unhurried but efficient. Explains options well and answers questions honestly. She is not a know it all or arrogant, but clearly thinks through implications, options, and risks, and involves patients in their own care. She seems to genuinely care and is kind. The office wait is often quite long, but once in an exam room Dr S shows up within a few minutes. My thumb just closed up a few days ago. It will still be healing for some time, but I can use it and i have it. About ten weeks and a handful of office visits later. Hallelujah. God has been gracious. I highly recommend Dr. Scordino. She has all these traits I look for in a Dr.: Honesty, humility, curiosity, caring, competence, respect, due diligence.
Wonderful intelligent lady great dr...
I have been seeing Dr. Scordino for over 18 months for wrist problems. Each time I see her she exhibits professionalism, and a sincere desire to make me comfortable. She never rushes through my appointments, takes all the time I need and always answers my questions and concerns. This doctor does not disappoint.
She was very considerate, listened to all of my needs and provided affective solutions to my injuries. Thank you so much, Dr. Scordino!!!
