I found Dr. Kristin Hopkins after researching the Stony Brook website as one of the best shoulder specialists. Dr. Hopkins has been my orthopedic surgeon for two surgeries necessitated by unrelated injuries sustained during performance sailboat racing. The first surgery (July 2021) was to repair a Partial tear of the supraspinatus tendon. (Surgery- left shoulder arthroscopy, distal clavicle excision, subacromial decompression for bone spur, partial rotator cuff debridement CA). The second surgery (Aug 17) was to repair a complete tear of the right side pectoral tendon humoral attachment. Both surgeries went extremely well, followed by extensive physical therapy. Not only is she a great surgeon, she explains everything well and has pleasant bedside manners. I highly recommend Dr. Hopkins.

This visit with Dr. Hopkins was so helpful on so many levels. Our discussion helped with my understanding of my current medical situation . She was very knowledgeable and extremely in tune to what I was feeling. She helped me with my pain after a thorough review and did not rush me out of the room, even after a bunch of questions. She seems to interact with all her patients in a kind and nurturing way which is exactly how I would want to be treated.

A couple weeks ago I was evaluated by Dr.Hopkins for bilateral knee pain. I am a volunteer firefighter and was having difficulty completing necessary tasks. She was very thorough and considerate to my particular needs and recommended an amazing physical therapist. After completing a few weeks of PT I no longer require medication and have an exercise regimen fit for me that’s helping me remain pain free. After a great visit for myself I brought my daughter who suffers from RA, in for an injury just this week. I was able to get a quick appointment, testing completed and everything was reviewed with both me and my daughter with ease and for our understanding for a hopeful recovery

She sound like a good doctor , unlucky she didn't like me or I felt treated differently sometimes people don't like you for no appereant, reason,maybe my race but other then that she's looks like she has good knowledge and experience unlucky I be looking for another surgeon who doesn't descriminate.
