Dr Dematteis MD is a caring and competent physician.
Dr. D, has been my Cerebral Vascular Neurologist for almost a decade, after I was diagnosed with a rare genetic incurable illness: CADASIL. Only symptoms can be treated. Today, I had a seizure, in his office & didn't end up in the hospital, because, he over the years, has found the right combination (Lamictal XR & Clonazepam) resulting in fewer & less painful seizures. He really cares about his patients.
Dr. DeMatteis has been my Neurologist, since, I was diagnosed w/ a rare genetic mutation (CADASIL) causing small vessel destruction, resulting in uncontrollable seizures. I wasn't aware, I was ill, until collapsing into seizures & respiratory arrest, in my First Grade classroom. I lost my job, home, SUV, license, & finances. I wouldn't have made it through the 1st yr. w/o him & Dr. Glass. Dr. DeMatteis cares about the whole person-physically & emotionally. Thank you Dr. D for your kindness!
I was very disappointed with my visit to Dr. Dematteis. I saw him for severe foot spasms lasting several hours at a time, ,leg cramps, numbness in my feet, etc...following surgery for severe spinal stenosis. He made light of my situation and told me " everyone gets charley horses". His only advice was to lose weight! ( I am about 10 lbs overweight). I was very disappointed that I wasted my time seeing this physician.
Dr. Dematteis was ver thorough in his examination of my condition. He discovered a "M Spike" in my protien via routine blood test which led to the discovery of my pre-cancerous condition called MGUS. I highly recommed Dr.Dematteis for your neurological needs...!
Extremely confident and very able to relate medical terms in easy to understand words !
Dr. Dematteis has an exceptional bedside manner. He is easy to talk to, knowledgeable in his field and always takes as much time as needed.
everything is always in your head reading my medical chart would be nice. i was seen by one of the best doctors in the word for my problems with siezure and he states its in my head all because medical came out with a new thing and as of right now he is being very unsafe with my care and im scared. he is a very poor doctor talking wisw always in a hurry and doesnt care. this is a very very mean dotor in my eyes but i have to see him i dont have a choice
Top of his field. Very Csring and competent.
This doctor wrongly diagnosed me and would not listen to my systems. Which caused a long road to recovery and search for a doctor that did care to go out of the regular norm. ThanK goodness this doctor find out and helped me but not Dematteis he did not and wrongly diagnosed me. When treating a patient no matter what it is a patient should be able to beleive that this doctor cares and the doctors he works with care and listen to patients. Sometimes doctors are to quick in diagnosing and are not willing to step out of the norm. I had alot of blood work and urine test done by a different doctor and he found out what was wrong and was able to start treating me. Had this been caught earlier my road to recovery could have been a more easier one. I did like Dr. DeMatteis but if you tell a patient something or diagnose and than don't back that up I call that maltreatment to a patient and their care. This is just not acceptable and than making the patient feel bad when they are the ones sick and trying to understand what is going on with their body.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
