The best doctor I've ever seen! Had rhenta surgery did an amazing job according to other doctors doing check ups.

As a health professional for many years, I seek to find the best physicians for my care since all are not equal. I continue to see Dr. Bhatnagar because I know I will get the highest quality care. This is why I am writing to encourage others to start with him when treatment is needed rather than find him after not being pleased with the care of another physician. He is the rare mix of being highly trained, compassionate, and easy to speak with regarding any questions/concerns. He is also very aware of the comfort level of his patients and when performing a manual exam of the eyeballs, he is as gentle as he can be to do a thorough job. It is evident how much he loves his job and his commitment to exceptional care. I am filled with gratitude that I found this practice and the great care that I have received not only from Dr. Bhatnagar but his staff as well.

Truly he is a rare find among busy doctors! I went into his office with no vision in my right eye and needing treatment in my left eye. Dr Bhatnagar showed compassion for what I was going through, confident reassurance that he could help me and a personable upbeat manor that he would get me through this; the scariest most disturbing health challenge of my lifetime. Today I have vision in both of my eyes and I am ever so grateful to Dr Bhatnagar and his team. Dr Bhatnagar is proof that you don’t always need to travel to a big city for qualified health care. Truly he is a rare find among busy doctors! I was diagnosed last year with a serious eye condition, proliferative diabetic retinopathy; requiring continuous checkups and/or treatments for life. The retina specialist I was seeing, was not available during covid and did not return after Covid. I did see another busy aloof specialist in his office. He neglected to do a dye fluorescein test. Having type 1 diabetes for 38 years and complaining of cobwebs. Sadly, I didn’t know to ask for it! I needed to quickly find a new doctor. I scheduled consults with a few local retina specialists. ` For me, as important as a doctor’s educational credentials are, equally important is their bedside manner. It wasn’t until my appt with Dr Bhatnagar that I knew I found the right doctor! . Dr Bhatnagar showed compassion for what I was going through, confident reassurance that he could help me and a personable upbeat manor that he would get me through this; the scariest most disturbing health challenge of my lifetime. I went into his office with no vision in my right eye and needing treatment in my left eye I feared having treatment in my left eye, when I had no vision in right eye. Dr Bhatnagar discussed his treatment plan, and how he would go about it, all while confidently reassuring me each step of the way that it would be okay. Thankfully, I put my trust in him and followed his treatment plan It has been 10 months and No further treatment at this time is needed in the left eye.. He did the same with my right eye, explaining the situation, discussing the options and answering my questions. He was carefully monitoring and treating it, and preparing me to accept the need for a more aggressive treatment option; surgery. My confidence and trust were with him. My surgery went fine and I am recovering nicely I have vision in my right eye and I am ever so grateful to Dr Bhatnagar and his team. Dr Bhatnagar is proof that you don’t always need to travel to a big city for qualified health care, I am so grateful and blessed that he is my doctor.

I have had great respect for him until today. He has been very gentle with exam for retina detachment, but today he hurt me. I don’t know why.

He's fine as long as you don't do or say anything that he perceives as a challenge to his opinion. If he perceives you to be difficult, he can be passive aggressive.

Moved north to albany from NYC, asked current Dr. to recommend a specialist in the capital region district.My retinal specialists said contact albany medical school of ophthalmology. I contact the school and they referred me to Dr Bhatnagar's office. I was assigned his patient and have been very happy with his knowledge and especially his discussions regarding my treatment. Very personable which is important to relieve nervousness discussing eye surgery and procedures.

The entire staff was friendly and immediately helped to lower my anxiety. The multi-step process although long, was thorough and detailed. Dr Bhatnagar was professional, friendly, compassionate and caring. I highly recommend him for those seeking medical advice on the retina and areas behind the eye.
